RELEASE BUOYANT NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR
SUMMER DRENCHED SINGLE

FLOWERS

In recent weeks, Sydney based psych-rock trio Mazy released their second offering of the year with their new single ‘Flowers’. Staying true to the neo-psychedelic, britpop soundscape they’ve become so well known for, whilst adding flurries of colourful harmonies and energetic instrumentations to inject a new vibrant energy to their production. To accompany the release, the trio now share the equally upbeat music video, directed by W.A.M Bleakley.

Sharing the experience on how the video came together, Mazy explain “We had an amazing time shooting this video. It was tough! The location was a picturesque small flower farm and was absolutely perfect for ‘Flowers’. We’ve worked with Bill before as he shot our last video for ‘You Got Me’ – which we loved. Huge thanks to the talented, small and very hardworking team that put this all together, W.A.M Bleakely, Henry Voss, and Scott White”.

With soft palettes and wonderful textures of varying florals, the music video exemplifies the warm summer energy of the single. Filmed within a greenhouse, the video features the three bandmates, crooning away, playing their guitars and maracas. Clearly having a blast as they pop in and out of shots with various closeups showing off their easy going and light hearted spirit. As the track arrives at the breakdown, the trio slowly re-enter the warehouse in a beat up old beamer before absolutely shredding away, whilst the video takes a psychedelic left turn.

Consisting of Ben Tierney (Vocals/Guitar), Tim Grimes (Keys/Percussion/Vocals)  Sam Clayton (Bass/Vocals). The band fuses rock n roll, acid house, pop, and dance into a kaleidoscopic explosion of colour and noise. Recruiting Kim Moyes (from The Presets) for mixing duties. Mazy blends hypnotic vocal melodies with anthemic guitars and soaring synth hooks which echo the likes of Jagwar Ma, POND, The Beach Boys and The Stone Roses.

Exploding back onto the scene with the release of ‘You Got Me’ earlier this year, the trio have been quick to earn wide acclaim from the likes of triple j, triple j Unearthed, Acid Stag, Life Without Andy, The Music, and Something You Said, with a very special performance recorded live in Sydney for Mood On The Roof.

The music video for Mazy’s new single ‘Flowers’ is out now on Sweat It Out.
