THE THRILLING NEXT CHAPTER OF HIS DISCO-HOUSE ODYSSEY
With three extraordinary singles having made their way into the ether, Dresden based disco megastar Purple Disco Machine has kept his fans grooving throughout this past year – providing a huge ray of sunshine as we need it most. Already a globally renowned producer, having been a staple of the dance music scene since 2011, Purple Disco Machine has quickly become a household name with the success of his international hit singles ‘Hypnotized feat.
Sophie and the Giants’ and more recently ‘Fireworks feat. Moss Kena & The Knocks’.
‘Hypnotized’ became an anthem the world over, having been streamed over 290 million times across platforms, whilst going triple Platinum in Italy, Poland and Switzerland, with the carefree stylings of ‘Fireworks’ quickly following suit with over 45 million streams to date, whilst dominating airwaves across Europe, hitting #1 in the airplay charts across Italy and Germany, and recently reaching a new global Shazam peak of #41.
Today, the German talent leads a rallying call to his disco army of super fans across the globe, with the release of his new single ‘Playbox’, a vibrant, high energy, disco-house treat that marks yet another exciting chapter of his sophomore album release.
The single is to be accompanied by an extraordinary video illustrated and animated by Juppi Juppsen, and Mathias Lemaitre Sgard, who created a vibrant homage to classic science-fiction, cyberpunk, retro-futurism spiced up with disco influences for ‘Playbox’. In the clip, Tino, in the form of a space superhero, and his female droid search for an ancient artefact which is said to hold the essence of music and, therefore, possess unimaginable power.
With just shy of 900 million streams across his catalogue to date, and over 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Purple Disco Machine continues to live up to the hype of #2 Beatport Artist of All Time. With a succession of notable remixes for Dua Lipa, Mark Ronson, Foals, Calvin Harris, Fatboy Slim, Sir Elton John, Royal Blood, Lady Gaga & Ariana Grande, Duke Dumont, and Diplo & SIDEPIECE, coupled with his own dominating originals ‘Body Funk’, ‘Dished (Male Stripper)’, and ‘Devil In Me feat Duane Harden & Joe Killington’ from his debut album Soulmatic, Purple Disco Machine continues to innovate and elevate at every turn.

Liberation Records are proud to release the sprawling, esoteric new EP from Emerson Snowe. Emerson Snowe’s Splatterpunk is a collection of songs influenced by identity, selfishness, gore and optimism all written, recorded and produced by the artist himself.
Alongside the EP release, Emerson Snowe also shares a video for key track, ‘Man, It Don’t Matter (What They Say)’, a poignant, introspective song about pushing on and moving past negativity.
WATCH: Emerson Snowe – ‘Man, It Don’t Matter (What They Say)’
Emerson Snowe’s Splatterpunk was written mostly over the course of 2019 in a pre-Covid era where life was a different kind of chaotic, that involved playing shows in the US, UK, Europe and Japan, all whilst battling a series of new and old demons. Throughout the EP, the singer/ songwriter/ all-round-creative revisits and reflects on lost relationships, and attempts to accept the confronting realisation that everything must end.
“In a lot of ways I can relate myself to Will Smith’s character in ‘Hitch’. The romance coach who is able to show others how to love each other but is unable to do so himself. I’m writing music that people can enjoy and be uplifted by, but most of the time I’m unable to take my own advice.
“I genuinely thought I was writing really uplifting music (when I made Splatterpunk), but I listen back now and realise I wasn’t doing so well emotionally, maybe even physically. I feel as an artist all I can do is show my bare bones and have the EP as a diary entry of my time here on earth. So that’s that. I hope you enjoy.”– Emerson Snowe
Featuring the singles ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘You’re My Boy, Baby!’, the collection marks Emerson Snowe’s second EP release following his debut, That’s Rock ‘n’ Roll. Both ‘Frankenstein’ and ‘You’re My Boy, Baby!’ have won praise from global sites including Under The Radar, DIY, Clash, So Young, Riot Magazine, The Guardian and NME, plus received multiple spins from Jack Saunders at BBC Radio 1 and Hanuman Welch at Apple 1. The songs have also garnered widespread play across radio stations in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, in addition to airplay at triple j and community radio locally.
From Brisbane originally, Emerson Snowe has toured with King Krule and GUM, and spent the last few years overseas, finding kindred spirits within music, fashion and creative circles. He hopes to return to the live scene soon with shows in his current home of Germany.

Jade Bird today releases her new single, “Now is the Time”, taken from her forthcoming sophomore record Different Kinds Of Light, due for release on August 13th via Glassnote Records.
“If I had a penny for all your potential, I’d be left drowning in my mouthful of metal,” Jade sings on “Now is the Time”. The new track is a testament to Jade’s maturity and evolution with her songwriting; now able to identify and process her emotions more effectively, Jade’s storytelling ability is unmatched.
She talks of the new single, “Now is the Time is the only song to have me smiling and laughing listening to it back in RCA. We had the Beegee’s in mind and soul, triple tracking the vocals and putting a load of chorus on the guitar. I wrote it at the foot of our hotel bed in Mexico City, it’s a big motivational anthem for someone I want to put my arms around or lift them in the darkest time. Given that I wrote it mid pandemic, the sentiment to getting to the backend of this hell is heavily felt now, when I play it live and do a two step with my bass player!!!”
In advance of confirming details of the new album, Jade released ‘Headstart’ and ‘Houdini’ at the back end of 2020, followed more recently by the BBC Radio 1 play-listed single ‘Open up the heavens’ and the live EP ‘RCA Studio A Sessions’, taken from her live stream show from the iconic studios earlier this year which once again showcased her natural talent, uncompromising sense of self and enviable musicianship to the world. Jade also played a sold out, socially-distanced tour in America and turned in a brilliant performance of ‘Headstart’ for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (HERE).
The RCA studios in Nashville and the North American americana/alt-rock music scene feature heavily in the life cycle of this new album as that’s where Jade majoritively recorded ‘Different Kinds of Light’ with powerhouse producer Dave Cobb (John Prine, Lady Gaga). Over the last 2 years, Jade has organically become part of a community of American songwriters and artists, and the likes of Jason Isbell, Sheryl Crow and Jade’s friend and collaborator, Brandi Carlile have all taken the British voice firmly under their wing.
Jade Bird’s self-titled debut album was received with much critical acclaim when it was released in 2019. Even as a first offering from the then 21 year old, the album helped set the bar for female musicianship in the current age, carried along by Jade’s mature and sharply observed narrative vignettes of relationships, divorce and everything in between. Jade had a taste of the UK hype cycle, making the BBC’s 2018 Sound Of… poll and being tipped everywhere from Vogue to Rolling Stone. Her debut album ‘Jade Bird’ also received plaudits from the likes of Pitchfork and NPR.
Jade Bird remains one of the UK’s most individual and exciting female voices out there. With ‘Different Kinds of Light’ we find her cool, calm and collected – confidently striding ahead into her sure-to-be enthralling next chapter of her life and music.
“Now Is The Time” is available on all platforms now.
“In a sea of songwriters overshadowed by overshot production and forced authenticity, Bird stands out as a self-assured voice.” – Pitchfork
“Bird’s profound musings, which range the gamut from deeply personal to universal in scope, are told through a soaring blend of country, indie pop, and folk, but the most impactful musical element on display here is the rising artist’s ever-impressive voice. Liable to ascend into heart-piercing vocal acrobatics at a moment’s notice, what is most impressive is how Bird maintains her innate gift for impactful storytelling even in her quietest of moments.”– Ones to Watch
“(Jade Bird’s live show) rises with righteous lovelorn anger and falls with quiet reflection. Dipping between acoustic solos and full band freak-outs, it’s part smoky jazz club set, part thigh-slapping rodeo.”– The Guardian
“Jade Bird(’s debut) has the edge of an assured debut album and is a startling introduction to a British talent who looks set to take the States by storm. Whatever she decides to do with the next set of songs – build them bold and brash, or strip them back to considered jams – it’s hard to imagine them failing on her anytime soon.” – NME
returns to Australia & New Zealand for ‘Solar Power Tour‘
in Feb/Mar 2022
For the first time in five years, Frontier Touring and Eccles Entertainment are thrilled to announce formidable pop queen Lorde will return to stages around New Zealand and Australia in February and March 2022. Kicking off in her native New Zealand on Sunday 27 February, Lorde’s Solar Power Tour will head through Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney, before wrapping up in Perth on Saturday 19 March.
Following the release of her long anticipated new single, ‘Solar Power’ earlier this month – her first new music in four years and the first taste of her forthcoming album of the same name – the inimitable songstress will hit the road for a nine-date run across the Antipodes to kick off 2022.
Lorde’s New Zealand and Australian dates form part of this morning’s global tour announcement, which includes stops across Europe, United Kingdom and North America in 2022.
Penned with long-time collaborator and producer Jack Antonoff, ‘Solar Power’ is a refreshing dip back to organics, providing a new inspirational anthem for the Summer.
With backing vocals from Clairo and Phoebe Bridgers, ‘Solar Power’ has taken the world by storm, NME calling it a “gorgeous, sun-kissed rebirth” and a “quietly but supremely confident return”.
The track is a stunning shift in sound with The Guardian saying, “… it might be her most universal song, hippy in sound and spirit… Yet sung in pop’s most conspiratorial voice – that sweet, scratchy whisper – Lorde conjures its transformational magic anew”.
At the age of just 16, Lorde released her first album Pure Heroine, breaking into the international market and later going on to win two Grammy Awards including the coveted Song of the Year. The album peaked at #1 in over 20 countries, including Australia, New Zealand and America and featuring chart topping tracks ‘Royals’, ‘Tennis Court’ and ‘Team’.
With 2017’s follow up, Melodrama, Lorde achieved bona fide superstar status. Launching with pop gem ‘Green Light’, the record gained critical acclaim, a slew of award nominations, multi-platinum status, seeing Lorde now exceed 12 million album sales worldwide across her career and over 10 billion streams globally.
With her third studio album, Lorde turns her attention to nature. She says, “The album is a celebration of the natural world, an attempt at immortalising the deep, transcendent feelings I have when I’m outdoors. In times of heartache, grief, deep love or confusion, I look to the natural world for answers. I’ve learnt to breathe out, and tune in. This is what came through.”
Renowned for her enthralling vocals and commanding stage presence, Lorde never fails to impress on the live stage. Visiting cities across Australia and New Zealand for the first time since her sold out 2017 national tour, don’t miss your chance to catch this epic performer live next year!
“Blink three times when you feel it kicking in.”

German modern metal outfit VENUES released their fourth single ‘Mountains‘ from their upcoming album »Solace«, due for release on 27th August via Arising Empire. »Solace« comes as CD and limited colored vinyl and unique merch bundle – pre-orders available now!
In close cooperation with videographer Marius Milinski the story that began in their previous singles ‘Rite of Passage‘, ‘Shifting Colors‘ & ‘Uncaged Birds‘ goes on in another crazy and phenomenal music video which underlines this striking new single.
“For me,” Mountains “sums up the ups and downs of last year perfectly, but also the hope and confidence that the band gave me. For me, the song represents the inner struggle with myself and the resulting strength, about to grow out of it.” – Lela
From the depths of their deepest crisis, VENUES emerge victoriously, welcoming two new members – clean vocalist Lela and guitarist Valentin. When former vocalist Nyves quit the band mid-tour, following the release of their pivotal debut »Aspire« (2018), the modern metal juggernaut was shaken to the bone.
Despite this, the remaining members refused to give up and tirelessly searched for new talent. Following guitarist Constantin witnessing a performance of Lela at (of all places) at a STEEL PANTHER show, the band found their new clean vocalist.
VENUES went into the studio with producer Christoph Wieczorek (Annisokay) to record »Solace«, who coated their massive sound with a metallic alloy of remarkable precision.
“We wanted to be more metal,” Robin comments.“There were some pop sensibilities of Aspire we wanted to replace with rather the opposite.”
Melody and punch-drunk heaviness, metal and alternative rock, zeitgeist and authenticity, barbed choruses and unleashed creativity: with their soaring sophomore release, VENUES fulfill every single promise they gave on »Aspire«.
Lela | clean vocals
Robin | shouts
Constantin | guitar
Valentin | guitar

Musical authenticity that opens the heart – that is what distinguishes the artist Fish And Scale aka Roland Wälzlein. He loves to touch people deeply with his music and to evoke inner knowledge and wisdom in his listeners. His artistically arranged songs pay homage to life and reflect its deeper meaning. Sometimes powerful and passionate, sometimes subtle and soulful. And always a bit different, surprising and extraordinary.
Fish And Scale has a growing and dedicated fan base. He is attracting attention all over the world.
“My favorite independent folk artist.” Journalist and Emmy Award winner Michele Gillen, USA
“Rare and unique artist.” Wyatt Easterling, former A&R Manager Atlantik Records and award winning songwriter, USA
“I truly believe that music is the voice of nature. Fish And Scale is at the very epicentre of that voice.” Chas Burns, Actor, Writer, England
“People who hear his music are touched.” Lana Read, film director, USA
In France, Fish And Scale entered the iTunes singer/songwriter charts at number 15 this year. Furthermore, he provides the movie sound track for “Key Lime Voodoo” (Amazon Prime production). The music clip for the song “Dream” by Fish And Scale, created by the Spanish artist Laura Huerta, was a finalist at the Buenos Aires Music Festival.
In 2019, Fish And Scale was very successful with the “Songs from the Inner Child” from his last EP on the “Inner Child” tour through Germany and the Benelux countries.
Roland Wälzlein describes his music as Independent Folk Music with a mystical touch. It differs from conventional “folk music” in many aspects. meaningful lyrics also ensure recognition value. Typical is the intense and at the same time soulful voice, in which one can discover a slightly smoky Mick Jagger colouring. The often unusual song structure and the meaningful lyrics also ensure recognition value. As you immerse yourself in the songs of Fish And Scale a deeper dimension of music comes into play, which roots in the mystical secret of life.
What is the story behind this exceptional music?
Growing up in Franconia (a south part of Germany), as a six-year-old child Roland survived a serious heart operation. This life and death experience stayed with him all his life. Existential questions are reflected throughout his lyrics. A turning point was his first stay in a “silent retreat”, which completely changed his understanding of life.
Ultimately, Roland sums up these experiences in his latest studio album “You can Call Me LOVE”, which will be available on all streaming portals from May 28th, 2021. “LOVE means our pure, undisguised essence,” he reveals on the album. “When we are naked and pure, free from all collective narratives, from all our expectations of how life should be and all concepts in our mind, a deeper meaning shows up that we can call LOVE. The more we dive into this dimension, the more we feel happiness, love and the joy of simplicity. We realize that we are life itself.”
In this sense, “You Can Call Me LOVE” becomes the motto of Fish And Scale’s artistic expression. The “You Can Call Me LOVE“ album contains 11 expressive songs (including 2 bonus tracks) with a synergistic effect. 11 intimate musical encounters with life that put together the message of the album piece by piece. The tracks are about the search for truth, about longing and inner conflict, about wrong decisions, reversal and arriving. An inner dialogue with archetypal figures reveals itself and leads the listener into the wondrous world of fairy tales, mystics and wisdom teachers.
Fish And Scale below
It becomes obvious that the confrontation with one’s own shadows, even with the deepest unconsciousness, already carries the path to healing within itself Surprisingly, there is sometimes only a fine line between opposite poles such as right and wrong, strength and vulnerability, confusion and clarity, accusations and forgiveness, freedom and surrender, intensity and silence. One aspect of truthfulness and being “real” is not to deny or exclude either side.
Fish And Scale’s distinctive sound mirrors this by combining different stylistic elements into a harmonious totality full of surprising changes of intensity.Roland’s voice effortlessly oscillates between rough tenderness and elemental outbursts of power. Raw, pure notes merge with gentle melodies. Dreamy soundscapes develop a wild dynamic. “You Can Call Me LOVE“ dissolves dividing lines and thus not only provides a magical sound experience, but also gets its own, authentic expression.
The theme of authenticity runs like a thread through the new album and is explicitly taken up again in the second single released “Unmask Myself”. The song describes the inner liberation from self-imposed and socially imposed role specifications that often mask our true personality core beyond recognition. The key to happiness lies in the decision for true authenticity. Only when all invisible masks, (self)-deceptions and interpersonal barriers are allowed to disappear, real intimacy becomes possible and a deeply fulfilling letting go happens. This is what “Unmask Myself” is about.
The first single released, which is called “You Can Call Me LOVE” like the album, shows us a way to deeply felt joy of life; back to our unique inner radiance and a fulfilled life in self-empowerment and fellow humanity. It is the way into our heart.
Since the release of the first two album singles, interviews and reviews about Fish And Scale have been published in many different German and international music magazines and blogs. A worldwide promotion of the “You Can Call Me LOVE” tour is currently underway and has met with a great response. The “You Can Call Me LOVE” tour can be understood as a process of consciousness-raising that takes place inside each listener. The aim is to strengthen one’s own heart intelligence and to come closer to oneself again. The songs on the album describe the different steps of this inner musical journey.
When external circumstances allow it again, the “You Can Call Me LOVE” tour will be continued as a live tour.
With his outstanding musical potential, his open-hearted, amiable way of inspiring people and a lot of contagious soulfulness Fish And Scale is now well on the way to making it big internationally.
Last year, old friends Fraser (guitar/vocals) and Amelia (drums/vocals) reconnected after losing touch for many years. When lockdown hit, they began collaborating as a creative and cathartic outlet. Their musical partnership quickly developed into something bigger, writing 70 songs by June 2020. On Amelia’s return to Scotland, after eight months of writing together via video call, they finally had the opportunity to jam live and decided to form Midnight Ambulance.
In February 2021, they released their debut single ‘Black Gloves’ which quickly gained the attention of national media, including a BBC Scotland Introducing premiere, BBC Alba Single of the Week and The Scotsman on Sunday Artist of the Week, with 15+ national radio plays in the first fortnight from BBC Radio Scotland (Vic Galloway & BBC Introducing), BBC Alba (Rapal), Amazing Radio (Jim Gelletly & Charlie Ashcroft), and 70+ playlist features including Creative Scotland, Fathersunday (Fatherson) and Charlie Ashcroft’s Fresh Finds.
Midnight Ambulance below
“The debut single by Midnight Ambulance, Black Gloves is a brilliant first step. Ominous, looming and with a real sense of menace, the duo conjure a unique atmosphere with Amelia’s heartfelt vocal and pounding drums front and centre, elegantly accompanied by Fraser’s playing and production. This is a serious opening salvo and promises greatness in whatever they do next. As a listener, I am excited and slightly scared!!” Vic Galloway, BBC Radio Scotland.
“Amelia’s voice is sort of angelic which kind of doesn’t go with the darker music but in a really good way, it really works. Definitely going to keep an eye on these guys.” Shereen Cutty, BBC Introducing.
“Amelia’s angelic vocals delivered against a dark, enveloping instrumental, one driven by throbbing guitars and unconventional rhythm patterns. Inspired by lockdown and its effect on their personal relationships, it’s a hypnotic listen and a mesmerising debut.” (Tenement TV)

Today, Natalie Imbruglia has announced her forthcoming new album, Firebird, set for release on September 24 via BMG. Alongside the announcement, Natalie has shared the first single taken from the album, the instantly catchy ‘Build It Better’, accompanied by the single’s official video (out tonight here) bringing a touch of La La Land to Nell’s Cafe.
New album Firebird was written in an array of international locations alongside Albert Hammond Jr of The Strokes, Romeo Stodart of The Magic Numbers, KT Tunstall, Eg White (Adele, Dua Lipa, Sam Smith), Luke Fitton (Little Mix, Girls Aloud), Fiona Bevan (One Direction, Ed Sheeran), Rachel Furner (Little Mix, Jason Derulo, Craig David) and more, touching on themes of independence, vulnerability, the juxtaposition of strength and fragility, revealing Natalie’s newfound sense of confidence.
In contrast, the album was almost entirely recorded in lockdown, produced remotely by Natalie and My Riot with additional production from Albert Hammond Jr, Gus Oberg (The Strokes, Albert Hammond Jnr) and Romeo Stodart (Magic Numbers).
Discussing the album, Natalie says “Making this album has been such a profound and satisfying experience. Having gone through a long period of what essentially was writer’s block, it was sometimes hard to envisage getting to this place. Before the pandemic, I started the process of writing this album in London and soon after, I headed to Nashville. With each session and new collaborator, I started to gain confidence, find my voice again, and craft the sound and style that felt authentic to me. It’s been such a privilege to work with such an array of talent on Firebird. I just can’t wait for people to finally hear it.”
New single ‘Build It Better’ is the first to be lifted from the forthcoming Firebird. Though unintentional, it could be about a world recovering from a pandemic. Natalie describes the single as “surrendering to the chaos and seeing what’s on the other side of it is a good life lesson. Letting something fall apart, and being okay with that, is something that I have had to do in my life, numerous times, but especially moving into this record and becoming a mum. So, I’m really excited about that song, and about the video, which is total escapist fun – the world needs that right now.”
Firebird will be available on CD (Standard & Deluxe) limited signed CD (Standard & Deluxe), limited blue Vinyl and Digitally via BMG on September 24.

Off the back of the successful release of their last EP, Mantell returns with a mesmerising new single teaming up with Melbourne based singer, Stella Dunai of Empress.
Honest and vulnerable, Mantell showcase the evolution of their songwriting with latest single ‘Dear Mia’, an earnest description of a fragmented relationship “Oh the friendships, I miss the friendships and the fights”. Recorded at the band’s own studio – West End Recordings, Mantell enlisted the mesmerising voice of Stella Dunai to help create their powerful new single.
‘Dear Mia’ is a retrospective look into a fragmented relationship and the piecing together of the broken pieces. Mantell explores the regrets and self-reflection one has when they question where and how everything went wrong “How can I trust what you said when everything you’ve done gone to waste”. Their new single sees Mantell adapt a stripped-back composition while expertly building a cinematic and emotive journey.
June will see Mantell performing shows for the first time since heavy lockdown laws. Celebrating the release of ‘DearmMia’ alongside some of each city’s finest local talent. An unmissable opportunity to see one of Melbourne’s most promising new names thriving.

Sydney-based pop-punk quintet A Swift Farewell have returned with a new line up and a blistering new single ‘Mousetrap’ – produced and mixed by Mark Williamson (Inertia, Far Away Stables, Closure).
‘‘Mousetrap’ kicks off with muted guitar and the congruent vocals of Emma Mather, before gritty bass and bolstering drums propel the song into its virulent chorus. Intricate dynamics and cunning instrumentation spotlight the group’s chemistry, while delicate synths add diversity throughout the arrangement. Amidst the band’s animated signature sound, the lyrics explore the song’s profound underlying message.
Accompanying the release is the effervescent music video. Filmed, directed and edited by Robbie Walcott, the clip shows the band members finding themselves at the mercy of evil scientists. They are anesthetised and cloned before a childish mistake allows hilarity and farce to ensue. Featuring ambiguous filming techniques and a convoluted plot, the video accurately encapsulates the band’s quirky personality.
Bassist Sarah Bonnet talks about the meaning behind ‘Mousetrap’
“’Mousetrap’ is about feeling trapped in a relationship in which you are not able to give some-one the time and attention they demand from you and feeling burnt out from trying. In the end, the person doesn’t notice they are asking too much from you and you feel yourself grow emotionally distant from them.”

Previous single ‘Save Yourself’ was widely embraced by Spotify and Australian radio stations triple j Unearthed and The Faction. The band have also received support from the likes of Alternative Press (USA), Wall of Sound, and Hysteria Magazine.

Kate Miller-Heidke below
‘With a range that extends beyond the operatic and into the stratospheric, Kate Miller-Heidke may be a vocal show pony but she is certainly not of the one-trick variety. She is equal measures quirky alt-pop princess, musical theatre songwriter, empowered protest singer, classical diva and yearning folk balladeer.’

Trained as a classical singer at the Queensland Conservatorium, Kate’s work is as diverse as her voice. She has performed at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, dazzled in several roles for the English National Opera, won four Helpmann Awards for her debut opera as a composer, ‘The Rabbits’, written the music and lyrics (with her collaborator Keir Nuttall) to ‘Muriel’s Wedding: The Musical’ and represented Australia at Eurovision in 2019 with her original song ‘Zero Gravity’ – coming first in her semi-final and achieving a top ten placing in the Grand Final.
‘Impossible to pigeon-hole, the multi-talented artist offered an
evening that mixed pop delight and cabaret intrigue.’
Kate has been nominated for ARIAs in categories varying from Best Pop Release, Best Adult Contemporary Album, Best Classical Album, Best Cast Recording, Best Comedy Release and Best Australian Live Act.
‘Miller-Heidke always seems to have another vocal gear – and she works as effectively both in taking things up a notch, or moving into more delicate territory. Such was the case with the inevitable encore, her Eurovision entry, ‘Zero Gravity’, which took on an entirely new and poignant dimension….’

SEPTEMBER – DECEMBER 2021
The video for the single dropped on Tuesday morning Australian Time at Slipknot’s Festival KNOTFEST’s music blog! The band were also announced to be playing at Knotfest’s Pulse of the Maggots streaming festival at their twitch channel on 25th June from 3pm PT (Saturday morning 26th June 8am Australian AEST). Their set will be streamed alongside bands like Hyro The Hero, As Everything Unfolds, Lotus Eater and more.
The band says that the new song “…is a narrative which explores our protagonist’s state of mind and his internal conflict when found at a crossroad in his life. The result of his devastating actions has him struggling to understand the fallout. What has lead him here in this moment to have “blood on his hands”? The song explores how he struggles with conflicting voices trying to determine whether the outcome was justified or damning.”
‘I, Exist (Voices)’ was written by Druid & The Loud Noise Estate. Evan Lee and Ash Daws from The Loud Noise Estate also produced, mixed, and mastered the track.
Music Feeds described their previous single ‘DTHBLW’ as “A spectacularly twisted mash of nu-metal and metalcore, the maniacal track jerks you around like an out-of-control speed coaster before crushing you with its raw emotional weight.”
Later this year, the band will collect the singles already out (Room 44, DTHBLW and now I, Exist (Voices)) into a release entitled ‘The Beauty and The Decay’. More details will be revealed as the year progresses.
Each of the singles’ cover art brings the viewer/listener one step closer to the final view – with each piece of art stepping through a new door, bringing the final image and full view into focus.
Druid’s singles ‘Room 44’ and ‘DTHBLW’ received play on triple J’s The Racket with Lochlan Wattwith DTHBLW getting a follow up play on Richard Kingsmill’s 2021 show on triple J, added to rotation on The Faction and a tonne of spins on MMM Hard N Heavy!
Thrilling dance pop newcomers We Are Iso have today shared their lush new single Love n’ Trust – a considered track that floats through the perils of a one-sided relationship – accompanied by a stunning video directed by Alan Woodman of Nixie Films.
We Are Iso, which is comprised of vocalist Straalen Mccallum and DJ Jessy Mulholland, were formed during the pandemic, and spent their time in isolation honing their unique brand of dance pop.
Love n’ Trust is an undeniable dancefloor filler – the pulsing rhythm and sweet synths throughout are guaranteed to get bodies moving. It’s electronic house-inspired dance pop at its finest; inspired by the likes of Chet Faker, Running Touch, Hayden James and RÜFÜS DU SOL, We Are Iso have an instant classic on their hands with Love n’ Trust. Speaking on the creation of the song, DJ Jessy Mulholland says, “The song started off with just a simple vocal hook – “love… trust” – and evolved into a story about a long-term relationship that was very much one-sided love. The couple are stuck in a loophole with no escape – even at their worst, when they fight and cheat on each other, they stay together, hoping one day they could just let it go…This song is groovy as, with a heavy festival vibe. You can’t help but dance to it and the hook gets stuck in your head! We are so proud of this one!”
Directed by Alan Woodman of Nixie Films, the video featuresWe Are Iso performing late into the night in an untouched location, with an impressive light show to set the mood and lure viewers in with that fittingly enticing, hypnotic vibe. “The song is super powerful so we wanted to keep the video stripped back to really let the song tell the story,” explains Straalen. “Filming at night was such a vibe even though Jessy was rugged up in his big jacket and I was freezing! It just felt so right for the song LOVE N’ TRUST. Alan our director was awesome and managed to capture the moon perfectly as it watched on directly behind us. All round, it was such an epic night and I’m so glad we got to capture it!”
We Are Iso are an unlikely duo – Straalen Mccallum is an acoustic-style singer songwriter, while Jessy Mulholland has years of experience in the tech/house scene as a DJ. They’ve been able to reach a strikingly unique style by meshing their two musical perspectives together, and not only does it make for hypnotic and ultracool recorded tracks, but it also helps the duo to create a completely out of this world live experience, too. We Are Iso are already selling out shows in their hometown of the Gold Coast– and it won’t be long before they’re doing the same across the country.

The final track to drop ahead of the release of Positive Rising: Part 2 on Friday 9 July, ‘Golden Retriever’ is a nugget of hard rock gold with surprisingly sensitive undertones. ‘I’m such a dreamer / Golden Retriever / hopeless and needy / I really gotta work this out.’
‘Golden Retriever’ comes with the gorgeous video directed by Joe Agius (Hatchie/The Creases), featuring none other than the golden canines themselves.
“This film clip was definitely one of the most fun shoots we’ve done thanks to all the dogs who were there. I’m really going to miss having 6 super happy golden retrievers running around out the back of film clip shoots.” – Simon Ridley
