KUČKA RELEASES

MONUMENTAL NEW SINGLE

‘ONE MORE NIGHT

(FEAT. FLUME)’

After years of collaborating and touring the world together, electronic producer/vocalist KUČKA (aka Laura Lowther) and beloved Grammy award winner Flume have joined forces again on mind-melting new single ‘One More Night’.

Salacious and satisfying, ‘One More Night’ is the massive pop moment the pair’s creative partnership has been building to. Seeing its first spin on triple j Breakfast this morning, the track was ideated during a writing session for Flume’s Palaces, alongside his album track ‘ESCAPE (feat. KUČKA)’. It was revived while on tour together in New York a year later.

‘One more night and it’s the last time’ had been stuck in KUČKA’s head that day, a forgotten lyric she couldn’t place. After plugging it into her computer and discovering the forgotten demo, the pair decided to finish it in a conversation enroute to that night’s show, and took it back into the studio a week later. ‘One More Night’ was reborn and built from the original demo’s first verse, this time with KUČKA’s project in mind, culminating in their most collaborative creative effort to date.

“I found myself singing ‘hunger for your desire, body an icon to admire’ and it made me laugh. It captures that ridiculous feeling when you’re infatuated and addicted to your crush. You become a performative cartoon. And it’s just as fun giving the performance as it is receiving it. It’s this horny funny exchange.” KUČKA

Dialling effortlessly between explosive crescendos and moments of near-silence, KUČKA credits Flume’s fearless production choices with nudging her further out of her comfort zone. The release comes with an absurd and campy music video by Natural Fantasy, the moniker of director duo Dillon Howl and KUČKA. In the video, KUČKA plays a tongue in cheek cam girl obsessed with performing bizarre acts for her viewers. The meta nature of the video’s concept —we are watching someone cam-girling — plays on the voyeuristic nature of KUČKA’s songwriting as of late. “I love being an emotional voyeur, that way I can write from anyone’s perspective – even someone created from my imagination. There’s fantasy in that.”

KUČKA has quickly become one of Australia’s most exciting musical exports, now based in L.A.. She boasts major collaborations with A$AP Rocky, Flume, SOPHIE, Vegyn, Mount Kimbie, Machinedrum and more. Her seminal debut album Wrestling received critical acclaim internationally from the likes of triple j, NME, The Guardian, Rolling Stone and SPIN, earning her the cover of Spotify’s Front Left and crush and ambassador title for the platform’s PRIDE campaign.

KUČKA has captivated audiences on stage with Flume at Coachella, LA’s Kia Forum and Red Rocks, while her own headline shows – including a sold out Dark Mofo and specialVIVID Live performance at Sydney Opera House – have earnt KUČKA a reputation an impressive live act, with a mesmerising stage presence and a talent for creating immersive sonic landscapes.

KUČKA’s earnest depiction of her experiences across love and growth have been prevalent through her past releases. But a new era has seen Laura Jane Lowther, the mastermind behind KUČKA, move toward music that transcends herself, writing from different perspectives and experimenting with visual influences.

Flume has won 1x Grammy, 12x ARIAs, 2x MTV Europe Music Awards and 1x Billboard Music Award across his 12-year career. He rose into the main-stage ranks globally with his 2012 debut and Grammy-winning 2016 sophomore effort Skin, both of which topped the album chart in his home country Australia. He has worked with the likes of Lorde, Sam Smith, SOPHIE, JPEGMafia, PinkPantheress, Disclosure, Slowthai, Toro y Moi and more. KUČKA remains one of his favourite voices to work with.

PARADIGM TRIGGER +

ANGELS WEEP

U.S. metalcore act Like Moths To Flames have dropped a new double single: Paradigm Trigger and Angels Weep. It’s the first new music from the band since last spring’s I Found The Dark Side of Heaven.

Paradigm Trigger is an absolute rager, and is quite possibly the most vicious the band has ever sounded. It will make even the finest hairs on the back of your neck stand on end, thanks to the guttural growls and pummeling riffage, as well as the subtle dynamics.

“This song is about being stuck in a levitative state of sleep paralysis,” says singer Chris Roetter. “Including a lot of feelings of anxiety, it’s meant to represent the feeling of being stuck. Desperately wanting to run from everything you’re falling into but somehow you always end up back in the same place.”

Angels Weep is as ferocious as its counterpart, and is sure to stir up moshpits from coast to coast. It goes from zero to sixty in the first moment and stays there.. until the haunting, ominous fadeout.

“The track tells the story of a man who finds himself a place in a dense dark forest,” Roetter offers. “Something about it resembles heaven, but more or less has become a place where God and angels collectively go to die — a place that’s desolate and empty, hopeless and lacks any promise of getting better.”

BAD PARTY SHARE

SULTRY NEW SINGLE

“PRAY”

Brisbane Metalcore act Bad Party deliver their heaviest single to date with sultry new single Pray, their first release with brand new vocalist Dale Dudeson of fellow Brisbane metalcore outfit Revoid.

Pray is produced, mixed and mastered by Callan Orr at Avalanche Studios (Dream On Dreamer, Bad/Love, Alt.) and is partnered with a dark music video directed and edited by Colin Jeffs at Tens of Swords Media – watch the video here.

The new single is a provocative track that explores the power of human connection. Vocalist Dale Dudeson explains: “Innuendo aside, Pray was a concept I had been working on for a while. Originally it was a take on how the right person can really bring you to your knees, sometimes in both beautiful and destructive ways.”

While the foundations of the song take on a seductive tone, the band also highlight the other side of the coin, “Rather than keep the entire affair “sleazy”, we wanted to touch on a very real issue with the way people become unrequitedly infatuated with others with no real cause to do so. For some people, just a glance is enough, but for others, it’s all too much and quite often a pain in the ass.”

Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, Bad Party is Daniel Long and Alex Nisiriou (formerly of Chronolyth) on guitars, Campbell Henderson on bass, and Dale Dudeson. The quartet burst onto the scene in 2022 with their EP, ‘Beyond Repair‘. This release attracted all the right attention and set the stage for their live debut, where they found themselves headlining a sold-out show in support of their debut release.

Their latest single Want It became their best performing single to date, with Hysteria Magcommenting: “The track showcases some of the best aspects of heavy music”. Triple j Unearthed added the single to rotation as Dave Ruby Howe gave the track 4 stars and reviewed with: “When you order steak with a side of steak. Extra meaty from the Bad Party boys.”

Since their inception, the band have seized every opportunity to connect with their growing fanbase and have played alongside artists to the likes of Banks Arcade, Diamond Constuct, Clay J Gladstone, She Cries Wolf, Headwreck and more.

Bad Party draw influence from a wide variety of genres including electronic, rock, grunge, nu-metal and metalcore. The sonic amalgamation of sounds has seen the band evolve into a formidable force over their two year life span and have solidified them as rising stars to keep eyes on in Australia’s alternative community.

MELVINS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM TARANTULA HEART

MELVINS ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM TARANTULA HEART

MELVINS ANNOUNCE

NEW ALBUM

TARANTULA HEART

The Melvins latest opus, Tarantula Heart is quite possibly the band’s most unconventional and imaginative work yet, but also some of their catchiest, continuing a legacy celebrated for its eccentric and extraordinary output.

A preview of the five-song, 39-minute collection arrives with the release of ‘Working The Ditch’, and the accompanying Jesse Nieminen-created video. Nieminen previously directed the band’s short film, ‘A Walk With Love and Death’.

“The way we approached Tarantula Heart was different than any other Melvins’ album,” explains Buzz Osborne. “I had Dale and Roy Mayorga come in and play along with Steven and I to some riffs, then I took those sessions and figured out what parts would work and wrote new music to fit. This isn’t a studio approach we’ve ever taken. Usually we have the songs written BEFORE we start recording!”

“The majority of Tarantula Heart has dual drum parts,” adds long-time Melvins drummer Dale Crover. “Roy is an amazing drummer. We would discuss what we would do pattern wise, then we’d just go for it. Improvising riffs and trading off on drum fills.”

In actuality nothing appeared out of thin air. Buzz spent hours and hours with the drum tracks by himself writing songs to what he was hearing drum wise. “When the rest of the band heard these songs I’d created from the sessions, they were blown away,” Buzz shares. “These were fully developed new songs that they’d never heard before that had seemingly appeared out of thin air. Presto!”

Recorded, mixed and co-produced by longtime Melvins’ collaborator Toshi Kasai, the album also features We Are The Asteroid guitar player Gary Chester. Gary and the Melvins’ history goes back to their days on Boner Records, with the guitar player formerly having been a part of the legendary band, Ed Hall.

Next month sees the Melvins return to Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2017, supporting current labelmates, Mr. Bungle, on The Raging Wrath of Australia & New Zealand tour across six capital city dates.

About the Melvins:The Melvins are one of modern music’s most influential bands. Having formed in 1983 Montesano, Washington, the group founded by singer/guitar player Buzz Osborne (with stalwart drummer Dale Crover joining the following year), has been credited with merging the worlds of punk rock and heavy music, forming a new subgenre all its own. Over the band’s 40-plus-year history, they’ve released over 30 original albums, numerous live full-lengths and far too many to count singles and rarities. Recent releases include 2022’s Bad Mood Rising, a really good collection of what the Melvins do, what they can do and what they want to do, and 2021’s 36-track acoustic collection Five Legged Dog, featuring reinterpretations of some of the band’s heaviest songs as well as covers from their favorite artists. In the course of their discography, they’ve partnered with Jello Biafra, Mudhoney, and Fantômas for individual releases and toured the world many times over.

In fact, the band had the misfortune to be in both Christchurch and Tokyo for their 2011 earthquakes. In 2012, the Melvins completed the “51 States in 51 Days” (50 states +DC) tour, which was chronicled in the film “Across The USA in 51 Days.” The current incarnation of the band is Osborne, Crover, and Steven McDonald (Redd Kross). Previous line-ups include a pairing of Osborne and Crover with Big Business band members Jared Warren and Coady Willis, a four-piece featuring the current trio plus Butthole Surfers’ Jeff Pinkus, as well as Melvins Lite, which partners Osborne and Crover with Mr. Bungle’s Trevor Dunn. Sometimes, if you’re extra lucky, one version of the Melvins will open for the Melvins.

Neon Hitch), there is no doubt that Gym Class Heroes are a band that have created lasting musical memories for their fans across the globe. From small beginnings in the late 90s, Gym Class Heroes became key figures in the indie rock industry and tastemakers in the rap-rock genre.

With frontman Travie McCoy visiting Australia and New Zealand last year, performing at the 2023 edition of Fridayz Live, belting out hits from his solo career (Billionaire feat. Bruno Mars, Golden feat. Sia and We’ll Be Alright), fans went wild for his tributes to Gym Class Heroes, proving the band have remained close to their hearts.

Spending recent years focusing on solo projects, 2023 marked a reunion for Gym Class Heroes. The band performed at When We Were Young Festival alongside Green Day, Blink-182 and Thirty Seconds to Mars, as well as supporting All Time Low on their The Sound Of Letting Go on Tour, to a huge reception from fans past and present. TENACIOUS D ANNOUNCE

THE SPICY MEATBALL TOUR

AUSTRALIA & NEW ZEALAND

– JULY 2024

Are you ready?! Following massive sold out shows across Europe, UK and the USA in 2023 – which should come as no surprise for the Greatest Band That Ever Played on Planet Earth – GRAMMY®-winning dynamic duo Tenacious D, featuring Jack Blackand Kyle Gass, will bring their Spicy Meatball Tour down under to Australia and New Zealand in July 2024!

‘It’s no joke. Tenacious D is the best band in the world and in the Spicy Meatball Tour they are at the peak of their powers. Better than the Beatles… better than the Stones…even better than Taylor Swift. And they have PYRO!!! Do not miss the spicy meatball…it’s D-licious!!!’ – Anonymous Rock Historian

Performing seven huge arena shows on today’s just-announced run, these will be Tenacious D’s first live performances on our shores since 2013. Tickets will go on sale Friday 9 February (12pm local time) via frontiertouring.com/tenaciousd.

Frontier Members: your presale has just begun, so don’t delay!

You can also access tickets via the artist presale, on now – use the presale code SPICY to access.

Before they were known as the best rock band on earth, the former theatre students first formed Tenacious D back in the late ‘90s in Los Angeles. No one could have ever dreamed of where the band’s genius would take them, but take them it did…

Beloved by fans and critics worldwide, the Tenacious D journey includes a hit HBO variety series in 1999, a Platinum-certified self-titled album in 2001, and a feature film – Tenacious D in the Pick of Destiny – in 2006. 2012 release Rize of the Fenix earned a GRAMMY® nomination for ‘Best Comedy Album’, the band taking home their first win in 2014 for ‘Best Metal Performance’.

In 2013, Black and Gass created Los Angeles’ music and comedy event Festival Supreme (which has featured the likes of Adam Sandler, Sarah Silverman, Flight of the Conchords and more). 2018 delivered animated film Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto – which saw each frame hand-drawn by Black, and characters voiced by the band, who also recorded the accompanying soundtrack. A graphic novel completed the Post-Apocalypto universe in 2020.

It didn’t stop there: in 2021/22, Tenacious D covered songs for charity and launched a fibre bars line. They continued their creative streak with Words + Music | Vol. 29 | Tenacious D’s The Road To Redunktion, an Audible Original featuring archival audio.

Just last year Tenacious D launched The Spicy Meatball Tour, performing in 24 cities and selling out London’s O2 the week it was announced. They released their latest hit song ‘Video Games’ – their first new track in five years – and paid tribute to Chris Issak with a viral hit take on his classic ‘Wicked Game’. And finally in December 2023 Jack Black delivered another smash with his surprise hit ballad ‘Peaches’ from the Super Mario Bros. Movie.

Tenacious D remains the Greatest Band That Ever Played on Planet Earth, selling out shows worldwide…. Don’t miss the one and only Tenacious D, when they return to Australia and New Zealand this July!

HEALTH RELEASE

‘CHILDREN OF SORROW’

VIDEO

HEALTH have shared the new music video for their menacing single CHILDREN OF SORROW – from recent release RAT WARS and featuring Lamb of God’s Willie Adler – via premier anime source Crunchyroll.

Co-directed by bassist/producer John Famiglietti alongside James Kid, the video presents the exhilarating HEALTH live experience and the grand, mesmerizing debut of the band’s original Waifu dance team: Sakura, Hitomi, and Rio. Famiglietti explains: “Let me tell you what entertainment is. Violence. Sex. Friendship. Death. Surprise. Betrayal. Dancing. The HEALTH Waifu dance team are so sexy that if you see them enough times, you might faint. When you see it, you won’t be able to fight the temptation of wanting to dance with them!”. Read more about his love of anime at Crunchyroll’s in-depth feature HERE.

Produced by Stint (Oliver Tree, Demi Lovato) and mixed by Lars Stalfors (SALEM, The Neighbourhood), RAT WARS joins the lineage of groundbreaking heavy acts like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, which re-drew the borders between metal, electronic and pop music. It might be The Downward Spiral for people with at least two monitors and a vitamin D deficiency. The album, released in December via Loma Vista Recordings, has earned the LA-based trio critical acclaim, including cover stories at Revolver, Kerrang!, and Fuze, as well as rave reviews and features at LoudWire, Alternative Press, Paste, Grammy.com, Metal Hammer, Brooklyn Vegan, The Line of Best Fit, FLOOD Magazine, MXDWN, and more. RAT WARSwas also named one of the ‘Best Albums of 2023’ by Revolver, Alternative Press, New York Magazine/Vulture, MXDWN (#1 Album of 2023), Uproxx, FLOOD Magazine, and Exclaim!, among others.

Fans can catch HEALTH’s headlining RAT-BASED WARFARE TOUR in North America this March and April.

RAT WARS is available to stream, for order on limited edition vinyl, cassette, and more HERE.

Praise for RAT WARS:

“An album that really does sound like [HEALTH] have fully embraced the metal side of their sound.” -Lochlan Watt, triple j The Racket“LA industrial geniuses HEALTH exude menacing melancholy and evident greatness on glowering fifth album.” – Kerrang! (4/5 stars)“HEALTH have become a full-blown, industrial metal powerhouse” – Metal Hammer (8/10 stars)“…dark thoughts mesh with enticing melodies, and harsh, distorted noise is draped in soft sheets of reverb. The purview is bleak… but the sound design and production are almost playfully ambitious” – New York Magazine/Vulture (Other Best Albums of 2023)“They’ve been calling their aggressive, forward-leaning sound ‘noise rock’ since forming in 2005, but there are vibrant elements of industrial, electronic, post-punk, metal and avant-garde… They may have started as a band toiling in underground obscurity, but the guys have seen their music travel not only far, but deeply into the lives of fans reacting to the songs of pain, frustration and understated rage.” – Revolver “RAT WARS remains as danceable as any of their synth-y goth offerings to date. Pay whatever they’re asking for a ticket to HEALTH’s upcoming tour — stank face and headbanging come free.” – Exclaim! (Best Albums of 2023)“[RAT WARS] anoints the Los Angeles trio as leaders of the subgenre’s latest wave. With an ear for immersive sonics, mechanistic grit, and heavy-hitting breakdowns, HEALTH know exactly what they’re doing.” – UPROXX“‘It’s a stunningly wrought album, exploring some of their most personal themes and some of the best music to bear their name” – Distorted Sound (9/10 stars)“The group’s fifth album continues to solidify their goth-industrial aesthetic while remaining first and foremost a pop album—albeit one wrapped in leather and spikes… some of the strongest standout songs of any HEALTH album to date” – FLOOD Magazine“…a sonically sound, exhilarating roller-coaster ride that shrewdly assesses the last four years of recorded material and makes a concerted effort to deliver the most punishingly heavy album of their career.” – Sputnik Reviews (4.9/5 stars, Classic)“… bloody hell, is RAT WARS powerful.” – The Soundboard“[‘CHILDREN OF SORROW’ & ‘SICKO’] showcase the multi-faceted sound that’s allowed HEALTH to expand their fanbase and crossover conventional genre barriers.” – Heavy Consequence“No other band does it like HEALTH — and that’s a big fucking FACT!… RAT WARS is a perfect balance between Industrial Power and Ethereal Soundscapes.” – CVLT Nation“RAT WARS is this band’s most creative collection yet” – Soundsphere“The new record is inherently HEALTH, but with something new, something fresh.” – Mixdown Magazine“[‘UNLOVED’ is] catchy, creepy and psychedelic in the best way possible.” – MXDWN

SYDNEY’S PASTURES RETURN WITH DYNAMIC NEW SINGLE ‘THE GARDEN’

SYDNEY’S PASTURES

RETURN WITH DYNAMIC

NEW SINGLE ‘THE GARDEN’

Continuing to thrive off the back of a natural performance chemistry and innate feel for writing great melodies and hooks, Sydney indie five-piece Pastures serve up their next single and chapter with new single, ‘The Garden’.

Following on from their track ‘Sweet Desires’ earlier in 2023, Pastures build upon strong foundations here; ‘The Garden’ has been an opportunity for Pastures to push themselves in the studio, capturing rejuvenated energy under the guidance of co-producer and engineer, Oscar Saran (Coconut Cream).

Working with Saran out of his home studio in Sydney, Pastures hit upon a great rhythm and developed ‘The Garden’ in an organic way. Says songwriter Dylan Bender of their new single,

“Every song we recorded with Oscar (Saran) was such a treat, but we had a particularly fun time recording ‘The Garden’. Oscar really took a shine to this song, which was really nice, so we spent a fair bit of time experimenting with textures and tones to bring the song to life a bit. Tom [Pollock] has such a magic touch for a catchy indie guitar lead and I think that talent of his really shines on this track. Watching him lay down the lead parts was a joy.” DYLAN BENDER, PASTURES

“As the garden is one of our tracks where for the drums, less is more, it was an exciting project to really step back and focus the theme of the beat towards enhancing the emotion crafted by the harmonic elements, and really aid the transition from section to section in this lovely narrative. There isn’t really a repeating section of the drums throughout which I feel really allows the guitars, keys, vocals and bass to shine and lead whilst adding a necessary element of variation and movement. It’s a track that really plucks at the heartstrings, and all of the individualities we all bring to our instruments combine superbly.”

SAM CIMENTI, PASTURES

As they look ahead to a new year of music and opportunities, the release of ‘The Garden’ repositions Pastures as part of Sydney’s latest crop of fresh talent to be keeping one’s eye on. Where ‘Sweet Desires’ this year introduced the group to more audiences on their home turf, and to many others in other cities, Pastures is a band that has been building on their craft together since their debut in 2020.

Debut single ‘Losing Sleep’ was swiftly followed by ‘Farewell’ in 2020 and then ‘413’ in 2021; both tracks showing early potential from this group of musicians, as the core identity of the band was knitting together.

Coming through with a song like ‘Sweet Desires’ doubled as somewhat of a statement of intent and refreshed arrival for Pastures and here with ‘The Garden’, they prove that they know how to conjure the alchemy of insatiable indie rhythms and hooks, delivered with genuine personality and charm.

“This is the track that best captures that feeling of bittersweetness that is pretty common in our music – finding yourself between the joys, uncertainties, and sorrows in life and feeling somewhat bewildered as to how these sensations coexist so closely. I wrote the lyrics when I was 19 without being too sure of what exactly  they meant at the time. All they could convey for me was some kind of feeling I couldn’t quite articulate.

Over time, I came to realise that is precisely what the song is about – a young man trying to make sense of the world he was growing into. I sat on this song for years before showing the guys, it just wasn’t quite right. Then one day I demoed it out and added a few touches that brought it to life before sending it off to the guys. I’m so glad I did, because with the contribution of my wonderful bandmates and Oscar Saran, the final product is something we are all really proud of.”

PALACE RELEASE

NEW EP PART II –

NIGHTMARES & ICE CREAM

Kicking off 2023 with Part I – When Everything Was Lost, London’s Palace close out the year with the release of Part II – Nightmares & Ice Cream, the final part in the collection of EPs, out now via Fiction Records / Virgin Music Group.

Opening with stunning laid back tones of ‘Rabid Dog’, the three track EP also features the beautifully bewitching single ‘Make You Proud’ and the EP’s hazy title track ‘Nightmares & Ice Cream’. Produced by Adam Jaffrey (Loyle Carner, Tom Misch, Yussef Dayes) at Unwound Studios, Part II – Nightmares & Ice Cream sees the band with a sharp new focus. Beautifully hypnotic, mesmerising and full of raw emotion, the EP is the band at their very best.

“‘Nightmares & Ice Cream’ is another snapshot of life and moments of the past year,” lead singer Leo Wyndham said of the EP. “It’s Part II of the journey, and one that’s felt very significant. It’s a hazy chapter of intense reflection to past events, but also a sort of purgatory where we stumble forward, stunned, trying to find some kind of grip on reality.”

Childhood friends Palace released their acclaimed debut EP Lost In The Night in 2014, followed by the Chase The Light EP the year after. Now with three albums under their belt, So Long Forever, Life After and 2022’s Shoals and a mass of adoring fans across the world, the band look set to close 2023 on a high.

iDKHOW ANNOUNCES GLOOMTOWN TOUR OF NORTH AMERICA FOR SPRING 2024 AND RELEASE EMPHATIC, BRET EASTON ELLIS-ESQUE SINGLE “GLOOMTOWN BRATS”

iDKHOW

iDKHOW ANNOUNCES

GLOOMTOWN TOUR

OF NORTH AMERICA

FOR SPRING 2024

I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME (iDKHOW), the musical project of Salt Lake City-based singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Dallon Weekes, releases “GLOOMTOWN BRATS,” the second single off his forthcoming sophomore album, GLOOM DIVISION (23.2.24, Concord Records). For Weekes, the Joe DiMaggio quote “rich boys don’t make it to the majors” became his guiding light growing up poor while trying to find his footing as a musician. The mantra shines through in the theatrical, bass-heavy new anthemic single that centers an apocalypse of vanities – the nepotistic lifestyles that are rarely earned and always flaunted.

The track is accompanied by the announcement of the 2024 GLOOMTOWN TOUR, with 27 dates across North America kicking off March 15, including NYC’s Irving Plaza and Los Angeles’ Regent Theater. Tickets are available for pre-sale today at 11am ET with code GLOOMTOWN and general on-sale is tomorrow, 12/8 at 10am local time.

Additionally, iDKHOW has confirmed a hometown New Year’s celebration that will take place on December 30 at The Depot in Salt Lake City. Tickets are on sale now.

Produced by Dave Fridmann (Tame Impala, MGMT, Weezer), GLOOM DIVISION showcases a boundary-pushing fusion of R&B, post-punk and art-pop, exploring themes ranging from love and obsession to satanic panic and neurodivergence. Recorded at Fridmann’s Tarbox Road Studios and Weekes’ own basement studio, GLOOM DIVISION is a testament to the power of collaboration and fearless artistic expression.

iDKHOW has garnered nearly one billion streams worldwide to date, with two million monthly listeners on Spotify.  The new album follows iDKHOW‘s critically acclaimed debut, ‘Razzmatazz’ (2020), which included the #1 Alternative radio hit ‘Leave Me Alone’ and the previous EP 1981 Extended Play that included RIAA certified GOLD-certified single ‘Choke’. They have performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Ellen and CBS This Morning: Saturday, and shared stages with Post Malone, The Killers and more.

HEALTH NEW ALBUM ‘RAT WARS’ OUT NOW

HEALTH NEW ALBUM ‘RAT WARS’ OUT NOW

HEALTH NEW ALBUM

‘RAT WARS’

OUT NOW

“LA industrial geniuses HEALTH exude menacing melancholy and evident greatness on glowering fifth album.” – Kerrang! (4/5 stars)

“HEALTH have become a full-blown, industrial metal powerhouse” – Metal Hammer (8/10 stars)

“…dark thoughts mesh with enticing melodies, and harsh, distorted noise is draped in soft sheets of reverb. The purview is bleak… but the sound design and production are almost playfully ambitious” – New York Magazine/Vulture (Other Best Albums of 2023)

HEALTH’s anticipated new album RAT WARS (Loma Vista Recordings) – plus its final single, DSM-V – is out today worldwide on all streaming services and on limited edition vinyl, cassette, and more; listen HERE. Already named one of the ‘Best Albums of 2023’ by Revolver, New York Magazine/Vulture, and Exclaim!, the most violent yet vulnerable LP of their career is earning the LA-based trio critical acclaim, including cover stories at Revolver, Kerrang!, and Fuze, and rave reviews and features at Grammy.com (‘5 Songs to Get Into HEALTH’), Metal Hammer, Brooklyn Vegan, The Line of Best Fit, FLOOD Magazine, MXDWN, UPROXX, and more.

HEALTH today also shared a new mini documentary about the making of RAT WARS, featuring live performances, behind-the-scenes studio footage, and interviews with Jake Duzsik, John Famiglietti, and BJ Miller, alongside album producer Stint (Oliver Tree, Demi Lovato).

Produced by Stint and mixed by Lars Stalfors (SALEM, The Neighbourhood), RAT WARS joins the lineage of groundbreaking heavy acts like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, which re-drew the borders between metal, electronic and pop music. It might be The Downward Spiral for people with at least two monitors and a vitamin D deficiency.

RAT WARS’ six pre-release singles ASHAMED, CHILDREN OF SORROW, SICKO, UNLOVED, DEMIGODS, and HATEFUL, earned praise and support from Revolver (Best Songs of the Week), Guitar World (Essential Guitar Tracks), Uproxx (Best New Indie), Loudwire, Stereogum, The PRP, Lambgoat, Consequence, Brooklyn Vegan, and more. HEALTH’s headlining North American ‘RAT-BASED WARFARE TOUR’ begins on March 2nd, 2024, and includes shows at NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on March 15th and LA’s Belasco Theater on April 4th with Pixel Grip and King Yosef supporting on all dates.

More praise for RAT WARS:

“RAT WARS remains as danceable as any of their synth-y goth offerings to date. Pay whatever they’re asking for a ticket to HEALTH’s upcoming tour — stank face and headbanging come free.” – Exclaim! (Best Albums of 2023)

“[RAT WARS] anoints the Los Angeles trio as leaders of the subgenre’s latest wave. With an ear for immersive sonics, mechanistic grit, and heavy-hitting breakdowns, HEALTH know exactly what they’re doing.” – UPROXX

“It’s a stunningly wrought album, exploring some of their most personal themes and some of the best music to bear their name” – Distorted Sound (9/10 stars)

“The group’s fifth album continues to solidify their goth-industrial aesthetic while remaining first and foremost a pop album—albeit one wrapped in leather and spikes… some of the strongest standout songs of any HEALTH album to date” – FLOOD Magazine

“…a sonically sound, exhilarating roller-coaster ride that shrewdly assesses the last four years of recorded material and makes a concerted effort to deliver the most punishingly heavy album of their career.” – Sputnik Reviews (4.9/5 stars, Classic)

“… bloody hell, is RAT WARS powerful.” – The Soundboard

“[‘CHILDREN OF SORROW’ & ‘SICKO’] showcase the multi-faceted sound that’s allowed HEALTH to expand their fanbase and crossover conventional genre barriers.” – Heavy Consequence

“No other band does it like HEALTH — and that’s a big fucking FACT!… RAT WARS is a perfect balance between Industrial Power and Ethereal Soundscapes.” – CVLT Nation

“RAT WARS is this band’s most creative collection yet” – Soundsphere

“The new record is inherently HEALTH, but with something new, something fresh.” – Mixdown Magazine

“[‘UNLOVED’ is] catchy, creepy and psychedelic in the best way possible.” – MXDWN

ANGUS LEGG DROPS HEART-WRENCHING ACOUSTIC BALLAD ‘SPACESHIP’

Angus Legg

ANGUS LEGG DROPS

HEART-WRENCHING

ACOUSTIC BALLAD

‘SPACESHIP’

Melbourne’s Angus Legg has just dropped his latest single; a heart-wrenching acoustic ballad titled ‘Spaceship’. The song demonstrates an impressive level of musicianship, boasting layer after layer of emotive instrumentals combined with Legg’s stunning vocals. A deeply honest and vulnerable track written about a breakup and its aftermath, this release exhibits Angus Legg’s impressive ability to balance lyrical creativity with a sense of sincere reflection.

“‘Spaceship’ was written about 6 months ago, I wrote it directly after breaking up with my partner of two years… ‘Spaceship’ explores imaginative, otherworldly scenarios, almost desperately begging for them to be a reality. The lyrical punchline drives home that it was not only the end of the relationship, it was the beginning of an uncomfortable, foreign journey neither of our emotions were prepared to embark upon.” ANGUS LEGG

The track was mixed by close friend and fellow Melbourne Artist Jim Alxndr (who has previously collaborated with the likes of Angie McMahon), and mastered by Alex Gordon from Abbey Road Studios (Florence + The Machine, Slowthai, Cocteau Twins).

“Jim’s superpower is providing a safe space for others to sit in their emotions, he’ll sit there with you too. He’s also incredibly sonically inventive, his passion for artistic experimentation shines through in the record. There are so many layers that create the depth and texture that you may not necessarily hear immediately, however, they all lend themselves perfectly to the emotional landscape we created.” ANGUS LEGG

With previous tracks ‘3rd Grade Art’ and ‘Someone I Never Knew’ having received support from the likes of MILKY, Amnplify, The Au Review, The Music, and Happy, Angus Legg’s newest release is sure to strike a similarly effective chord with listeners, and to further establish him as an acoustic indie darling in the local scene.

“‘Spaceship’ is another story, beginning to end. I hope the listener enjoys the ride and can feel it  with me.” ANGUS LEGG

Intimate and vulnerable lyricism unfurls atop a moving and emotion-stirring soundscape, with Legg’s mesmerising performance luring you in with his storytelling approach.”

MILKY (‘Someone I Never Knew’)

A profoundly moving piece that showcases Legg’s ability to tap into raw emotions and create a musical experience that resonates with listeners.”
