EUROVISION PERFORMANCE
Perth, Western Australia’s progtastic pop-metal outfit VOYAGER may not be heading to Turin, Italy for Eurovision 2022 – but they absolutely gave it their all on the night, AND they took the #1 spot in the public vote numbers on the night, just pipped by Sheldon Riley.
Now, Voyager return to their hometown Perth, where they’ve now announced a headline show to celebrate the incredible support they received. Re-live their electric performance on SBS’ broadcast of Eurovision – Australia Decides!
In the days leading into the competition/broadcast, Newscorp’s papers Australia-wide put Voyager at the top of their form guide, saying: “Welcome Voyager, fusing the Nordic metal vibes with 80s pop. Their synth-pop meets bombastic rock entry is one of the strongest contenders. The official video nails the kind of geometric lighting design loved by the voters. There’s also a keytar, so very Eurovision.”
In the days running down to the competition – the band won the Aussievision’s Australia Decides 2022 public poll in their bid for Eurovision for the song “Dreamer”. The last two polls’ winners, Kate Miller-Heidke and Montaigne, went on to win ‘Australia Decides!’ The results can be seen HERE. There couldn’t be more heat on Voyager right now as they ramp up towards new music and touring during the remainder of 2022!
