‘SLEEPWALKER’

OUT NOW

Electronic producer Sturjun is releasing the first single ‘Sleepwalker’ from his debut EP on the 11th of March.

The track is a slight deviation away from his Electro-Pop roots, delving into a darker, moodier tone, infusing electronic elements with traditional hip-hop and R&B. With organic drums, brooding synths and smooth rapped and sung vocals,‘Sleepwalker’ is a unique showcase of modern alternative hip hop.

For the vocals, Sturjun enlists the help of rap and R&B veteran Chase Farley, who hails from Atlanta, America. The two met online during the pandemic, and Chase has delivered a powerful performance, showcasing a range of complex raps with hard hitting lyrics, and smooth melodic hooks.

The lyrics are a meditation on themes such as faith, mental health, and companionship.

The dirty electric guitars and dynamic vocals are reminiscent of recent ‘BROCKHAMPTON’ works, whilst the organic percussion and synths are consistent with a ‘Vince Staples’ production.

The track was mixed by engineer Jack Prest (Sampha the Great, What So Not) at Studios 301 and mastered by Matt Colton of Metropolis Studios, London (Flume, James Blake)
