MANSIONAIR RELEASE

NEW SINGLE AND ANNOUNCE

ALBUM RELEASE + TOUR

Sydney trio Mansionair are thrilled to share a trifecta of news with fans today – a fresh single in ‘Next High’, a new album Happiness, Guaranteed. due for release on April 29 and an east coast tour scheduled for May.

A breezy, feel-good, party-starter, that hooks in all the right places, the new single ‘Next High’ was a collaboration with US based producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, Kim Tee.

“We met Hayley backstage on the 2019 Laneway tour. She plays with Clairo and they always played directly after our set so we kept running into her and catching each other’s performances. After keeping in touch over the years she sent us an idea she had for a song and the rest figured itself out. The song attempts to capture that feeling of just being hopelessly obsessed with someone and not needing a reason to hang out with them.”

The band’s brilliant new album Happiness, Guaranteed. is a worthy follow up to their debut, 2019’s Shadowboxer and a masterclass in what Mansionair do best. A steady flow of singles that kept fans satisfied in the throes of the pandemic have all found a home on the glistening new, double-sided 15 track offering.

“This album is about wrestling with the idea of happiness. That it is not a destination that we ultimately arrive at. Reframing contentment and learning how to navigate ourselves in a world so geared toward success and arriving.”

The first half of the record was borne primarily out of two secluded writing trips outside of Sydney and feature original, all Mansionair penned tracks, such as the bold and brash ‘MORE’. Feeling burnt out and disconnected after a relentless couple of years of global touring (this was pre-pandemic), the band hired an isolated cabin and a farmhouse off an abandoned freight line for the trips, and brought things back to basics, hanging out and jamming together as three friends.

“We wanted to reconnect to each other and our love of music. For the first time in our band’s life, we ditched computers, set up in the same room, plugged in our instruments and played together for weeks straight.”

They enlisted the help of Jon Gilmore, English producer-extraordinaire, to mix and breathe fresh life into these songs.

The second half of Happiness, Guaranteed. highlights many of the band’s more recent collaborations with a host of big industry names, all of whom who have helped “to add to the tapestry of our band”. These tracks include the new single ‘Next High’ along with ‘Guillotine’ (NoMBe), ‘Right Into You’ (Claptone, Like Mike), ‘Don’t Wait’ (Yahtzel) and their recent monster hit with Dom Dolla in ‘Strangers’.

Fans will be able to see the band performing live shortly after the album drops, with a run of dates planned for the east coast in May. Indeed the trio are eager to get back to the stage after the last few tumultuous years, with an energetic, brand new live set and special guests Micra in tow. The Australian dates precede a huge mid-year run through the States.

With over 270 million streams to their name, a Grammy nomination for their collaboration on ‘Line Of Sight’ with Odesza, three ARIA certified GOLD singles – ‘Easier’, ‘Astronaut (Something About Your Love)‘ and ‘Falling’ – and more live shows than most bands aspire to, Mansionair are back brighter than ever with Happiness, Guaranteed.
