ANNOUNCE DEBUT SINGLE
“TAKE ME BACK”
Alternative folk group Norwood have announced the release of their debut single Take Me Back, a captivating track that gradually builds through honest storytelling and diverse instrumentation, set for release on July 3rd.
Norwood consists of vocalists and multi-instrumentalists Olivia Bolmat and Nathaniel Peacock, and drummer/producer Connor Tuan. Since forming in early 2019, Norwood have played a number of shows in their hometown of Melbourne, invoking classic folk and country whilst bringing their own unique contemporary spin to such genres. With its nuanced arrangement and thought provoking lyrics, Norwood’s music has been described as “a breath of fresh air” by audiences.
Take Me Back is the perfect example of what Norwood is – an eclectic journey through instrumentation and emotion, with poetic vocals and mysterious charm at its centre. Take Me Back is an intricate yet approachable track, evocative of folk rock legends Fleetwood Mac whilst maintaining a distinctive Norwood spin. Thrilled to be releasing the track, Nathaniel Peacock says, “It feels great to be releasing this track after working so hard on it for such a long time. We love the song, and to finally be able to show it to the world is exciting and relieving! “. Take Me Back was written by lead singer Olivia Bolmat and soley imagined on an acoustic guitar. “It was while experimenting with recording that we joined forces with Connor Tuan and composed the rest of the instrumentation for Take Me Back. This process really elevated the track’s intensity and gave us a resolution to months of work .”
