Today 20 year-old Aussie singer/songwriter/producer Jack Gray has announced his hotly anticipated debut EP Nights Like This, due for release on May 31^st and available to pre-save/pre-add HERE. Ahead of it’s release, Jack has today shared new track Take Our Time, premiered via ONES TO WATCH and is now available to stream/download HERE.

Speaking of the single, Jack says “Take Our Time” is a song about dealing with life’s transitions. Just about the time all my friends were getting ready to head off to university, I had an opportunity to go on the road and start playing live shows around Australia, which was a dream come true for me. I had met someone, as you do, just before I hit the road. Those first couple of weeks touring were really tough. Long distance relationships suck. I started to notice all my friends starting to struggle with the same balancing act, and so “Take Our Time” was born.”

Jack has spent the last few months writing and recording in LA as well as supporting fellow Aussie singer/songwriter Dean Lewis on tour in the UK, Europe and most recently the US and Canada, before opening for Ella Vos and Clara Mae in New York on April 10 at Brooklyn Steel.

Calling to mind contemporaries from Jack Garratt and James Blake to Frank Ocean and The 1975, Jack’s melodic voice floats over a combination of slick guitar work and crunchy electronic production. The 5-song upcoming EP often juxtapose conflicting emotions, tackling weighty topics with subtle nuance and thoughtful reflection, while also capturing the beautiful highs and messy lows of the journey into adulthood.

“The release of my first EP “Nights Like This” is the culmination of an amazing journey. What’s cool about this first release, as a writer and producer, I had the ability to obsess over every guitar part, every bass line, every drum beat and most importantly, every lyric. I’ve been living with these songs for the better part of a year and I’m excited they’ve gotten to the place that I’ve been hearing them in my head.”
