DMA’S version of Cher’s ‘Believe’ has today been voted #1 in triple j’s highly anticipated Hottest 100 of Like A Version countdown. It marks a massive accolade for the Sydney band, following seven years of ‘Believe’ finding its way into the hearts of countless fans around the world.

DMA’S covered ‘Believe’ for triple j Like A Version back in 2016, and it has since reached an iconic status in popular culture – amassing a whopping 12.5M streams on YouTube, and reaching 2x ARIA Platinum status in Australia, with over 40.5M streams on Spotify alone.
The band first debuted ‘Believe’ live at Splendour In The Grass in 2018 to a massive crowd reaction, and it’s remained an anchor of their euphoric live set since. Just last month, DMA’S performance of the track to a crowd of over 50,000 at Manchester’s Heaton Park in support of The Courteeners was brought to its fullest potential, with fans waving coloured smoke flairs and singing every word alongside vocalist Tommy O’Dell.
The huge honour comes off the back of the band’s fourth studio LP How Many Dreams?, which saw DMA’S play to adoring crowds across UK/Europe, including a sold-out show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley and the main stage of Reading & Leads Festival. The band landed their highest chart debut ever, peaking at #2 on the ARIA charts and a momentous #3 on the UK Official Album Charts, marking DMA’S second top 5 UK Chart debut – a feat only a handful of Australian artists have achieved, the likes of Kylie Minogue, ACDC and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.
To celebrate today’s momentous moment, DMA’S’ long-time record label I OH YOU has announced a flash sale on DMA’S How Many Dreams? Limited Edition Yellow vinyl, running from this Monday 17 July until midnight Sunday 23 July.
