DIAMOND CONSTRUCT DEFY EXPECTATIONS WITH NEW SINGLE “HIT IT BACK”

DIAMOND CONSTRUCT

DEFY EXPECTATIONS

WITH NEW SINGLE

“HIT IT BACK”

Having reached their next evolution and once again making it their own, Diamond Construct return with new single, “Hit It Back”, out now via Greyscale Records.

A party track balancing equal parts swagger and heavy abrasion, “Hit It Back” is about living life the way that you want to, removed from others expectations. Vocalist Kynan Groundwater explains: “So many people want to fit the mould and not step outside the boundaries of how people think they should be look and sound if they’re in a metal band, so we felt like showing a lighter side to us.”

Keeping true to their blend of EDM infused metal, a signature sound the band has become known for, the new track arrives at the perfect time for warm weather and festivities as the country moves out from state-based lockdowns. Groundwater continues, “When Braden came to me with the first demo of the song two years ago I immediately knew it was going to be a single. It sounded like a party so I wanted to make sure the lyrics were fun.”

“Hit It Back” is accompanied by a visually robust music video created in collaboration with Colin Jeffs of the Ten of Swords Media Collective. The clip features a variety of party set pieces and digital glitch elements akin to a modern trap hip hop flavour that contrasts heavily with the band’s previous visuals. “We wanted it to polarise what we’ve done in the past visually so we came up with the music video being just one big party vibe,” adds Groundwater.

In early celebration, Diamond Construct announced the Hit It Back Tour supported by Days Like These and Starve, visiting Sydney’s Lansdowne Hotel, Newcastle Hotel in Newcastle and Woolly Mammoth in Brisbane. Diamond Construct will round out their headline run with a set at Melbourne’s Perish Fest. Tickets below.

Enigmatic to their very core, Australia’s Diamond Construct have made it their mission to create music that defies all expectations. The seemingly subtle yet drastic sonic shift seen within the band since their debut self-titled album caught the attention of the heavy music community early on, and carved a pathway to their own uncontested spot in the alternative scene.

Their tenacity and work ethic quickly caught the attention of Greyscale Records, who heard something truly special in the band, mixing the best parts of metalcore and djent to create some of the heaviest riffs and break downs in the Australian music scene. After joining the Greyscale Family, and releasing their self titled debut, the band quickly hit the road, already having toured with some of Australia’s best upcoming acts such as Justice For The Damned, Alpha Wolf, and Thornhill.

With unlimited creative freedom, Diamond Construct have managed to quantify the understanding that the future is exactly what we make it, and through heavy riffs and a huge EDM bounce, the future is anything they want it to be.
