Hawker announce debut double A-side single “Bot Noxious” / “Chaka” + live show, Signalling its arrival from behind a sea of feedback and arsenal of scorching riffs. Sydney band Hawker are set to win the hearts of heavy rock fans everywhere with its just-released debut double A-side single, “Bot Noxious” / “Chaka”.

Hailing from Sydney’s northern beaches, the four-piece – Jefferson Grainger on guitar/vocals, Ish Karunanayake on lead guitar, Chris Grainger on bass and Jason Robertson on drums – conjure the spirit of grunge for the 2020s, its searing music invoking the likes of grunge-era royalty like Nirvana, Mudhoney, Helmet, Hole and Tool.

In its review of “Bot Noxious” / “Chaka”, Yack! Magazine raved about Hawker’s “huge sound built on monumental riffs, pounding drums, and bleeding throat vocals… the emotionality of the lyrics and the powerful passion behind the pen is impossible to ignore as the blood and spit crackle against the mic.”

To celebrate the release of “Bot Noxious” / “Chaka” on digital platforms, Hawker will be making their live debut at the Manly Boat Shed on December 11, ready to take no prisoners and possibly blow a few amps with their energetic, face-melting live show.

As Yack! Magazine rightly points out, “Hawker doesn’t sound like it belongs to this decade or any other… brought to us on cosmic winds howling through a dimensional riff rift, it emerges terrifying in stature, still dripping in primordial sludge.”
