Soothsayer reveal the next two tracks cherry picked by beloved Melbourne DJ, CC:DISCO! for the second instalment of her First Light compilation series, out Friday 7 May. This time taking centre stage is Melbourne-duo Steady Weather with their disco-house banger ‘Burning So Hot (feat. Allysha Joy)’, and Swedish outfit Mount Liberation Unlimited with their club-ready track ‘Debagungar’. To celebrate the compilation’s release, CC:DISCO! and Soothsayer have also announced a special day-to-night soiree at Port Melbourne’s iconic Timber Yard on Saturday May 15th.
‘Burning So Hot (feat. Allysha Joy)’ is the debut single from Steady Weather, the Melbourne duo made up of revered jazz, soul and funk musicians Ben Grayson and Tamil Rogeon. Rogeon just released an alternative jazz album titled, Son of Nyx, which attracted the attention of BBC6 Music garnering a ‘In Session’ live recording with Cerys Matthews, as well as being named feature album on PBS. The masterfully sultry vocal performance is courtesy of Allysha Joy from the 30/70 collective [Rhythm Section International], and brings a Róisín Murphy-esque edge to the production. The track is a highlight from First Light (Volume II) and CC:DISCO! is more-than-excited to shine focus on this promising new act:

Mount Liberation Unlimited also join the First Light family with the fun and energetic earworm ‘Debagungar’. Based in Sweden, Mount Liberation Unlimited make joyous house and disco music and have worked with the likes of New York’s Beats In Space Records (Andras, Tornado Wallace), Melbourne’s Superconscious Records (Problem-child of Fantastic Man and Francis Inferno Orchestra), Munich’s Permanent Vacation and Sweden’s Studio Barnhus (Axel Boman, Laurence Guy, BellaBoo). CC:DISCO! is proud to welcome the well-known and highly respected group in the global electronic scene to Volume II of the compilation.

‘Burning So Hot (feat. Allysha Joy)’ premiered digitally on Soundcloud, while both tracks made their radio debut on Triple R: Breakfasters.
‘Burning So Hot’ and ‘Debagungar’ follow on from the first two tracks to drop from Volume II, ‘VGF (DUB)’ by Donald’s House & Lipelis, and Hidden Spheres’ ‘Laamore’ which both premiered on Les Yeux Orange, and saw additional coverage from Resident Advisor, Mixmag, Decoded Mag, Clubbing Spain, Find Your Sounds and Purple Sneakers. ‘Laamore’ also saw its radio debut on FBi Radio. The tracks have seen staunch streaming support overseas, with ads to Spotify’s Friday Cratediggers (US), Brain Food (US), ALTAR (UK), The Loft (UK), 4am Chill (US) and Apple’s Headspace (US), Study Beats (US), Indie + Chill (US) and Vibes (US).

First Light Day Party ft. CC:DISCO! on Saturday May 15th will be CC:DISCO!’s last show before she returns to Europe for summer. Joining her on this very special occasion are some of the First Light (Vol II) family, Allysha Joy (DJ set) and Donald’s House.
