51st AVENUE TEAM UP

WITH JULIAN LATOUCHE

OF INERTIA ON

NEW SINGLE

“REMNANT”

Sydney-based pop rockers 51st Avenue join forces with Julian Latouche of Inertia on heart-wrenching new single, “Remnant“.

Remnant” tackles deeply personal themes, uncovering emotions that are tied to experiencing a loved one struggle through addiction, and slowly watching them lose themselves to their vice. “This song explores how the excessive use of drugs and alcohol can drastically change a person,” tells vocalist Alynnis Zizza.

The core of the person only remains through your memories – everything about them has changed and it’s hard to see this happen to them.”

The new single first played on triple j short.fast.loud on Wednesday night, where host Joshua Merriel vouched, “its a pretty damn good song“. “Remnant” is the quartet’s first release of the year and builds on the hard-hitting hyper-modern pop-rock sounds the band have been working towards since their formation in 2018.

Mixed and recorded by Mark Williamson of Keywork Audio (Inertia, Closure, Keepsake) and mastered by Kris Crummett (Sleeping With Sirens, Dance Gavin Dance), “Remnant” is 51st Avenue at their most powerfully vulnerable. Watch the music video created in collaboration with Dunelabs (HEAVENSGATE, Elision, A Swift Farewell) here.

51st Avenue is Alynnis Zizza (vocals), Ashley Biar (guitar), Josh Hutton (Bass) and Scott Gerard (drums), and together the four-piece have dedicated themselves to creating a modern and exciting sound melding electronic-pop and heavy rock.

The band have gained momentum since their launch, sharing a debut EP and a collection of singles across their lifespan so far. 51st Avenue feel they have hit their stride, attracting a dedicated following to their live shows and weekly Twitch streams.

In a short few years, 51st Avenue have dominated Sydney with their engaging live shows and painfully honest lyricism, sharing the stage with heavy rockers Hands Like Houses, Young Lions, Clay J Gladstone and more. In the midst of the 2021 lockdowns, 51st Avenue turned their sights to the online world, where they have built a tight-knit community across Twitch and Discord, regularly tuning in for an evening of entertainment.

Fresh out of the studio with a plethora of innovative and hyper-modern material, 51st Avenue are poised to leave a brightly lit lantern-shaped mark upon the Australian music scene in 2023.
