Yung Whitty offers the third track of his building catalogue ‘I Want Out’ after building a following locally and with breakout single ‘Fake Friends’ and sophomore single ‘Truth Hurts’. ‘I Want Out’ is a rap/alt-rap/ blend of woozy vocals over melodic guitar, trap beats, and bouncing 808’s, destined to get your head knocking. On this record, Yung Whitty delivers the most heartfelt message yet; wanting to escape the reality of a toxic relationship. From vocalistic harmonies to new age rhyme schemes, he explores the vulnerability of being involved in relationships with today’s poisonous culture of social media.
“Lyrically, I want to dive deeper into the thoughts, feelings and actions derived from heartbreak culture and how modern day society perceives and deals with it”.
The ultimate goal of his career is to normalize men speaking out about their problems. “I find it hard to talk about my problems face to face so I do it through my music” Whitty said. With the highest rate of Suicide per capita in the world, Australia needs to have advocates for this ongoing problem. Hoping that people will be able to relate to his music and not feel so alone
