TOBIAHS PAYS HOMAGE TO MIDDLE-EASTERN HERITAGE WITH NEW ANTHEM ‘RUNNING’

TOBIAHS PAYS HOMAGE

TO MIDDLE-EASTERN HERITAGE

WITH NEW ANTHEM ‘RUNNING’

100s + 1000s are elated to share ‘Running’, the latest single from Lebanese-Australian producer Tobiahs. Premiered last night via triple j Good Nights, ‘Running’ is an enticing and cathartic dance track inspired by the sweat and spirit of Beirut’s all-night club scene and the follow up to 2019’s sensuous hit ‘Late Night’.

“When I received the vocal, it took me just one listen to realise that it had something really special. Everything just clicked, and each element moulded around the vocal seamlessly. Not only did ‘Running’ end up being my personal favourite, it also allows me to showcase a side to my project I’ve been wanting to share for quite some time. The track is more upbeat, it’s club driven music.” – Tobiahs

‘Running’ is the follow up to 2019’s seductive single ‘Late Night’, which was added to triple j rotation and saw incredible playlisting across Spotify and Apple Music, leading to the song being streamed close to 1.5 million times since its release in October. At only 21, Tobiahs skilfully blends elements of pop within house, techno and garage to deliver his unique vision of lyric-driven dance music. Initially gaining attention from the likes of What So Not and Hayden James through a series of remixes shared online, his debut single‘Through To You’, a garage-inspired story of troubled relationships, was released in 2017 to critical acclaim and has since garnered millions of streams across Spotify and Apple Music.

His two follow-up singles, ‘To Be Honest’ and ‘Sculpted’, further established Tobiahs as one of the country’s most exciting and in-demand young producers, with ‘Sculpted’ receiving high national radio play and triple j including him as an Unearthed Feature Artist. Last year Tobiahs made his festival debut alongside the likes of Mura Masa at FOMO Festival.

The ‘Running’ cover art further taps into Tobiahs’ Middle-Eastern heritage, seeing him work with Melbourne-based artist Ramsay Hosn to create the striking visual. With this release, Tobiahs draws from the past for inspiration, all the while laying down a marker for the future.
