Whilst busy writing new music for her forthcoming sophomore album, Thelma took a break to record “These Days that soundtracks the new CBA We Can. Together. Campaign, which captures life as it currently is for so many Australians, highlighting a country coming together in support of one another, making the best of what is what is indeed a unique situation, while Thelma’s rendition of “These Days” adds a beautiful, poignant feel to the storyline.

Thelma comments “I was given the chance to record a song I grew up with, and as a Brissie local, I already know a couple of the Powderfinger guys so of course, I said yes. I even recorded parts of it in Ian’s (Haug, Powderfinger guitarist) studio, which made it feel even more natural.”

The release of the CBA campaign and the full-length version of the song comes days after the 2020 APRA/AMCOS Music Awards, were Thelma was nominated for Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year and the Peer-Voted APRA Song of the Year “Better in Blak”.

Thelma Plum has had a massive twelve months. In July last year she released her debut album ‘Better in Blak’ to much acclaim, featuring the certified ARIA Platinum single “Clumsy Love and ARIA Gold single “Better In Blak”. The album went on to place second in the triple j album of the year listeners poll whilst garnering nominations for the Australian Music Prize Album of the Year, six ARIA nominations (including Album of the Year, Best Pop Release, Best Female and Breakthrough Artist), two APRA nominations, two National Indigenous Music Award nominations (for Album and Song of the Year) and, with three songs in the Hottest 100 including the album’s title track at #9, she became the highest fan voted indigenous artist in the history of the poll. Over sixty million global streams, a national sold out tour and a debut London show that sold out two months in advance – it was, truly, a monumental twelve months.

With new music on the way later this year, Thelma’s highly anticipated national Homecoming Queen tour which special guest Kira Puru, has now been re-scheduled to November/December this year. The tour is due to start on the 11th November in Margaret River, WA. Tickets  details available at ThelmaPlum.com.
