‘THE LONG SUNSET’

ADDS MORE SUNNY

ACTS TO AN ALREADY

GLOWING LINEUP

The Scenic Rim is set to bask in the glow of The Long Sunset, a radiant new boutique live music event from the crew behind Queensland Music Trails, on Saturday 12 February. Headlined by Angus & Julia Stone, Ball Park Music, Babe Rainbow and Hatchie, also joining the lineup will be Queensland singer-songwriters Jack Gray, Clea, Asha Jefferies, SOFIA ISELLA, and local dj duo Cheek2Cheek – adding more sunny sounds to an already glowing bill.

The Long Sunset will take over the sweeping green acres of Elysian Fields to host the inaugural event for a day of fantastic live music and local food, produce and crafts in Artisan Alley, giving visitors a taste of this vibrant region. Boasting a carefully curated lineup of Australia’s best live acts, the event also doubles as a signpost for those looking to embark on a much larger adventure in one of Australia’s natural wonderlands; the Scenic Rim.

Although camping is now completely sold out, a handful of glamping sites are still available. Those staying at Elysian Fields on Friday 11 February, the night before, will be treated to performances by local acts Alissa Schuller and The Inadequates. This intimate concert is exclusive to campers and glampers.

To keep the local roads free of congestion, there is no public car parking at Elysian Fields, instead punters are encouraged to hop on shuttles running from Canungra Sports & Recreation Ground or any of the dedicated bus services operating directly from Brisbane CBD, Logan, Upper Mount Gravatt, Nerang and Ipswich. Return tickets for coaches can be booked at Mt Gravatt Coach & Travel.

The event has also partnered with Containers for Change to increase their recycling initiatives for a more sustainable music event. The Long Sunset is here to create great memories, not landfill.

Fresh from playing UK dates with Dean Lewis, Jack Gray has had a string of multi-million streaming tracks over the last two years:

“I’m so excited to be back home in Queensland and for The Long Sunset to be my first Australian show of 2022!”

While Clea, a Scenic Rim local, has been a favourite on national broadcaster triple j after her acclaimed Like A Version performance of Mark Ronson & Miley Cyrus’ ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’.

“I’m thrilled to be a part of The Long Sunset”, said Clea, who works out of her Boonah studio. “The Scenic Rim is so incredibly beautiful and adding music to the mix will result in an amazing day.”

Asha Jefferies also brings her unique sound hot off the heels of dropping her sophomore EP ‘The Pinnacle’ in 2021. The Gold Coast’s SOFIA ISELLA rounds out the new additions after a big year opening for the likes of Mallrat, Sycco and Tia Gostelow, while the event will close with local DJ duo Cheek2Cheek helping patrons dance their way into the night.

In its inaugural year, The Long Sunset offers crowds a rare opportunity to see Australian indie-folk duo Angus & Julia Stone, who will perform together in Queensland for the first time since their sold-out performance in Brisbane back in 2018. The brother-sister duo’s performance at The Long Sunset will also mark the first time for Queenslanders to experience the band’s latest record, ‘Life Is Strange’, live and in person. Five-piece Brisbane indie rock outfit Ball Park Music will also be joining the debut lineup, promising to deliver a quintessentially fun performance for their home-state punters.
