Brissy band Stepson are today releasing their latest cut from forthcoming album ‘Help Me Help You’! The new single ‘Who We Are’ is out now on all digital stores and streaming platforms through Sharptone Records at http://shrptn.co/whoarewe!
On the new single ‘Who Are We’, Stepson vocalist Brock Alan Conry said that, “As a band with a broad spectrum of musical influences we really wanted to explore every sound and style that makes us who we are. We were determined to create a record where every song sounded different and was a standout in its own right.”
“‘Who are we?’ is our punk rock anthem & captures a more upbeat and light-hearted side to the band. From the chorus that gets stuck in your head after one listen to the crazy drum fills, ‘Who are we?’ brings something new to the table whilst still remaining unapologetically Stepson.”
Brooklyn Vegan succinctly described Stepson’s sound, stating that this high-octane punk x hardcore outfit “successfully bounces back and forth between throat-shredding hardcore and glossy emo-pop.”
New album ‘Help Me Help You’ will be released on Friday March 26th. The debut album for the band was produced, mixed and mastered by Callan Orr of Avalanche Studios (Dream On Dreamer, Young Lions, Hands Like Houses). “Help Me, Help You” was created from a shared passion of heavy music in all its facets, with an amalgamation of melody, ferocity and angst that sets each of the 11 songs apart in their own unique, fresh way, whilst still bearing the trademark Stepson sound.
There is more depth to the musicianship on the bands first LP compared to previous releases, with some of the 5-piece’s most adventurous riffs and intense drum fills to date, meanwhile long time fans of the band will recognise the familiar lyrical themes having new life breathed into them by frontman Brock Alan Conry.
