SNOWFISH DEBUT SINGLE

‘GHOST’ | OUT NOW

Newcastle-based Alternative Rock trio Snowfish are set to release their energetic debut single Ghost out now.

The band, consisting of brothers Jordan, Solomon, and Kalan Rodrigues formed in 2019 and draw their lively, modern rock sound from artists such as Muse, My Chemical Romance and Radiohead. After Jordan and Solomon formed initially with a number of rotating bass players, the band finally gave their 15-year-old younger brother Kalan a spot in Snowfish, and have since played numerous shows across Newcastle.

Recorded, mixed and mastered by Jack Nigro at the renowned Grove studios in the Central Coast, Ghost presents a bright and punchy debut for the band that really shows off the individual talents of each member.

The track features impressive performances on all fronts, with a driving, wandering bass line and wild, pow- erful drumming that would not sound out of place on an early Muse record. This, matched with Jordan’s unique and confident vocal melodies make for a promising sound for the young band. Thematically, Ghost delves into notions of alienation and the pressures of modern life due to overexposure to social media.

“The song is about feeling overwhelmed by the unrelenting masses of information online. The song is narrated by a character who has become so disenchanted with the online world that they wish to escape from its grasp on their life” – Jordan Rodrigues. Snowfish have recently started to play gigs around Newcastle again as restrictions have started to ease, and will look to continue this following the release of Ghost.
