After a brief sonic flirt with rave flavours following his Australia and New Zealand Dark Machine Records Warehouse Tour, ShockOne returns to the airwaves for the anthemic ‘Heart On Fire feat. Pauline Herr’. The song is a nostalgic surrender to true bliss, uplifting with a warm and airy vocal sitting softly on a bright horizon surrounded by splashes of 80’s synths.

Giving insight into the process, ShockOne notes “This track went through many different versions before turning to my arp2600 synth for the main euphoric chords that feature. Once those came into being I knew I was onto something special.”

Then the search for a vocalist began, he continues “I’ve been a big fan of Pauline’s music and voice for a long time. We had some mutual friends (shout out to Twerl), so I reached out. As soon as I heard the first line she sang on the song, I knew we had it. When you get goosebumps in the first 10 seconds of listening to something you take notice! Paulineabsolutely nailed the vibe of the song and took it to a whole new level. This is one of my favourite things I’ve written in a long time and I can’t wait to share it with the world”.

Pauline Herr knows what’s what. An artist who burst onto the scene in 2019 now with close to 20 million streams on her original tracks. Get your ears prepped for a new release coming in 2023 on Sable Valley. Not stuck in the studio, Pauline has played EDC, RL Grimes notorious Halloween XI party and toured the southern hemisphere.

Pauline glows “This song makes me feel some type of way and I’ve absolutely loved playing it out over the past few months. When ShockOne originally sent me the instrumental I immediately fell in love and the vocals came to life effortlessly.”

‘Heart On Fire’ follows ShockOne’s heavier gabber ode ‘Say Woah’ as well as prior release with pioneering UK cinematic DnB act Koven on the melodic ‘Collecting Thoughts’ which was released on US bass powerhouse label Monstercat. ShockOne releases on his own label Dark Machine Records with singles including ‘Follow Me’, ‘Hardwired’ and ‘Thinking About feat. Lee Mvtthews’ amassing a combined 20 million streams across all platforms.

Hailing from Perth, the epicentre of the Australasian DnB scene, ShockOne has been at the forefront of the genre for the past decade since the release of ‘The ShockOne EP’ in 2009, which featured the chart topping ‘Polygon’. 2013 saw Shockone release his groundbreaking debut LP ‘Universus’ to critical acclaim reaching #1 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart and #2 on the ARIA Album Chart.

Having remixed local and international artists such as DJ Snake, Alison Wonderland, What So Not and Dillon Francis, ShockOne is currently working on his third studio album which is set for release in 2023.

‘Heart On Fire feat. Pauline Herr’ by ShockOne is out now via Dark Machine Records.
