Self-produced Bay Area indie musician Marcus Lee releases his new indie folk single, Not For You!
Marcus is a self-taught producer and mixing engineer creating intimate yet powerful indie folk songs. Not For You is a deep and rich track with a focus on Marcus’ sensitive, emotional vocals, yet it rises and builds into a poignant and heart wrenching song. Not For You is a song brimming with emotion that listeners will love to sing along to, and belongs in a playlist with musicians like The Lumineers, Lewis Capaldi, and Mumford & Sons.
Initially trained as a jazz musician, Marcus found his love for high energy live performance playing lead trumpet in county honor jazz bands, but his love for folk music inspired him to pick up a guitar in collegeand learn to write his own songs. His powerful vocals led to him being voted 2015 winner of Berkeley Star. During the auditions, Marcus met songwriter Sanjeev Suresh, and together they co-founded Songwriting at Berkeley, which would grow into an impressive musical community and inspire Marcus to learn music production and sound design. Now Marcus is producing his own music in the hopes of sharing intimate and impactful experiences through music with audiences worldwide.
