’Pop Radio’
releases first two singles
‘The Sound Of Change’ & ‘That’s What Life’s All About‘
Pop Radio are a psychedelic/folk/rock group making ground on Bundjalung Country, the Northern Rivers of NSW. Three years ago musician Alex Halsey, the writer/singer, moved to NSW from WA where his new project Pop Radio has come to life. Get ready as they take you back to a time of obscurity with the release of their first two singles ‘The Sound Of Change’ & ‘That’s What Life’s All About’, taken from their upcoming debut album ‘Small Steps, Tiny Doors’ – due out Mid 2023.
The release of ‘The Sound Of Change’ & ‘That’s What Life’s All About’ is a view at both sides of the Pop Radio coin. These two tracks, equally excited with vintage sound and youthful energy are very different from each other, giving the listener a sense of what the band is all about.
Since forming the live band with friends Max (12 String), Ben (Bass), Rick (Keys) and Louie (Drums) in late 2021, the group has played a number of successful shows alongside local acts such as Ocean Alley, Mylee Grace, Flying Machine, Cupid & The Stupids, Luke Morris & The Heavy Hitters and Seaside. Pop Radio engages listeners with their eccentric, outlandish and full sound, that provokes nostalgia while still feeling fresh.
“We are so excited to get these songs out to you and are looking forward to sharing the full album later in the year”.
If you live in the Northern Rivers, NSW don’t miss Pop Radio’s release party with Merryn Jeann on the 21st of January at The Little Poet Book Store (Byron Bay) for an intimate live performance.
