RELEASING SINGLE ‘WANNA BE SOMEONE

OUT FRIDAY 26 MAY

BACKING UP THE SUCCESS OF ‘YES I DO’ AND ‘SAVANNAH’, REID is releasing his next single, Wanna Be Someone. Teed up to be the start of a new era for REID, Wanna Be Someone is a journey through the feeling of human condition, with the coming-of-age sound to match.

REID is back and better than ever with an upbeat and energetic exploration of hopelessness and hopefulness in Wanna Be Someone. Despite having a full band sound, the track sees REID on vocals, guitar, bass, and synth, accompanied by Jordan Gray on the notably powerful drums.

REID explains that Wanna Be Someone is a message for your past self, your inner child.
It’s a message of hope that whatever rut you’re in or however stuck you feel – it won’t be like
that forever. Wanna Be Someone is a song for the daydreamers and dream-chasers.
REID says the drums are the most important part of the song as they drive home the various
emotions explored, culminating to a bridge commanding enough to inspire hope in even the
most cynical.

Wanna Be Someone was mastered by Robin Schmidt (the Kooks, the 1975) who is based in
Berlin. Toby Lloyd from Tiny Triumph Recordings helped record and produce the song. REID says it was awesome to work with the likes of Schmidt and Lloyd on this project, especially in terms of fulfilling his own childhood dreams.

REID asserts that Wanna Be Someone is a statement of his sound going forward.
This is just the beginning.

Wanna Be Someone comes out today wherever you listen and watch your music.
