NEW VIDEO FOR

“FOOLISH”

Brisbane alternative rock duo Days Like These share the video for Foolish off the back of the release of their energetic sophomore EP, ‘ICON’, which was released May 19. Watch the video for Foolish here.

Foolish is track five from ‘ICON’ and continues on with the bands shimmering alt rock sensibility and tongue in cheek lyricism with enthralling anthemic moments. Produced with Chris Lalic (Windwaker, The Last Martyr), the song explores light and shade in the form of chaotic pop elements and crushing heavy intervals.

The music video by Crow River Visuals (Windwaker, Make Them Suffer, Rumours) mirrors the quirky chaos of the track, sharing visuals that are dripping with glam up against vibrant backdrops. Vocalist Callen Batson explains, “with the song being as colourful and quirky as it is, we wanted the video for ‘Foolish’ to be akin to this.”

“With Days Like These, we’ve always had so many different angles and styles to offer listeners and it’s important for us to show all sides of ourselves as artists, whether it be a playful video such as ‘Foolish’ or a dark, creepy video like ‘Oblivion’”.

Days Like These made their return this year with leading single ICON, which accompanied news of the bands forthcoming sophomore EP of the same name. Revisiting their alt rock roots, ICON combines driving rock foundations with splashes of glowing alternative charisma, forming the bridge between where the duo left off with their 2021 EP, ‘Wide Awake’ and where they see themselves moving forward.

The ‘ICON’ EP released in late May and is sitting comfortably on over 60,000 Spotify streams and the band have collected over 13,000 monthly listeners. The EP featured singles ICON, Oblivion ft. Death Tour and Bloodshed. Each single was welcomed warmly by triple j with spins on multiple programs, and both Oblivion and Bloodshed found placement on ABC Rage, with Oblivion making it as feature video for a week in April. Bloodshed was also played on Channel 7 Friday Night AFL on release day.

Days Like These is Callen Batson (vocals) and Noah Murphy (drums/vocals). The band burst onto the scene in 2018 and have worked tirelessly to become one of Brisbane’s most exciting up and coming alt rock acts. After the release of their debut EP ‘Wide Awake’ in May of 2021, the duo soared and became a staple in the scene, supporting sold out shows with the likes of Black Veil Brides, Northlane and Polaris before quickly selling out their own EP launch show and embarking on three national tours last year.

The bands debut EP ‘Wide Awake’ introduced pop songs with heavy guitars, rave inspired tracks, huge chorus’ and tasteful riffs throughout, offering a diverse plethora of styles and sounds. The release featured at a multitude of key tastemaker outlets including HEAVY Mag, Music Feeds, Alternative Press, Spotify’s New Music Friday AU + NZ playlist, triple j and Unearthed and saw them debut their music on Channel 7 Friday Night AFL.
