‘Thin Line’ is a track of multiple layers that all work seamlessly together. From the incredible vocal melodies of singer Johan Pedersen, to the heavy progressive riffs that the band are so well known for, ‘Thin Line’ encompasses everything you could want from the band and more. Always continuing to expand and adapt their musical stylings and push things forward, COLD NIGHT FOR ALLIGATORS are raising their profile with each release.
Johan Pedersen explains more about the lyrical content of the single here: “During the writing of the album, I became a father for the first time under quite dramatic circumstances. It was a time of extreme uncertainty and a huge emotional rollercoaster. The lyrics for “Thin Line” are about taking a moral inventory during this time and while settling into my new identity as a parent – considering my flaws and past failures, the example I was setting and how to improve. Paradoxically, this was a quite lonely journey, but I found a lot of release creating music and lyrics around it.”
“This record is about us growing up and finding ourselves, and this was the quintessential experience for me during the whole process. It’s a heavy theme, but I’m very happy with how it came out.The lyric video mirrors this – there’s no quick fix on this topic, so we went for a static, contemplative and tense mood.”
Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, and having previously released two technical prog-metal albums, there has now been a shift in focus to a more uninhibited, and more mature vision within the band, as is proven in the live video which accompanies the latest single.
