NEW MIXTAPE 420DNA
DROPPING THIS OCTOBER
Australia’s biggest solo rap artist, the multi-platinum Sydney phenomenon, Chillinit, is back with a brand new single in ‘Pac Energy’, taken from his forthcoming mixtape 420DNA, his first full-length release since ARIA-nominated 2021 album Family Ties.
‘Pac Energy’ marks a full circle return for the new father, and a firey nod to the 90s boom bap he grew up on; the classic era of rap when lyricism and dirty drums reigned supreme. A booming string-laden instrumental courtesy of Tasker provides the foundation for classic Chillinit – hungry, commanding bars full of razor sharp punchlines and outrageous braggadocio; his trademark style and charisma on flagrant display.
Featuring scratching from the legendary DJ Izm and timed with the celebration of Hip Hop’s 50th birthday, ‘Pac Energy’ is the first taste from 420DNA, a brand new full length mixtape out in October and forthcoming national tour.
Chillinit speaks on ‘Pac Energy’ release:“The world is missing simplicity, sometimes the step forward is to step back, this track is stepping back to the roots of the music and for the fans of my music over so many years, from the scratching of DJ Izm to have you feeling like you’re in Brooklyn to the relentless bars and wordplay from the opening bar, it’s an aggressive in your face reminder saying that “you better come with some bars if you want this spot”
In the five years since his ARIA Gold Accredited debut album, ChillinIt has morphed from an underground sensation to a household name, accumulating in excess of 500 million streams and a swag of gold, platinum and double platinum singles.
Over in the UK, he is also the first and only Australian artist to appear on Charlie Sloth’s famed Fire In The Booth plus going viral on tastemaker channels JDZmedia and SBTV.
