Announce 7th Studio Album

The Sun

Out Fri 27 Aug + New Single

‘OG’s

(feat. ChillinIt)’

Out Now + Touring June/July

Australian hip-hop titans Bliss n Eso are elated to announce their highly anticipated 7th studio album The Sun (out Friday 27 August). An album packed full of energy, swagger and some exciting collaborations, sees Bliss n Eso at their hungry best after a four year wait between albums.

Today Bliss n Eso also share new single ‘OG’s (feat. ChillinIt)’. ‘OG’s’ is a track that combines the current kings with the new guard, signifying the beginning of the next era of the group who have dominated their field for over a decade. The song features multi-Platinum selling Sydney rapper ChillinIt, who’s 2020 album The Octagon debuted at #2 on the ARIA Charts, #1 on ARIA’s Urban Album Charts and #1 on ARIA Digital Album Charts and has amassed over 100 million streams in 2020 alone.

“Watching this dope hip hop scene grow over the years with so many new styles and cultures exploding with expression is truly inspiring.

ChillinIt is part of the new wave or rappers hitting Australia that we thought really connected with our sound. We had a classic moment on stage at a festival where ChillinIt jumped up during our set and the crowd went wild.

The energy and the way we connected felt really special, so we decided it was only right to hit the studio and put something real down.

OG’s is the aftermath of that experience. 🤙”
– Bliss n Eso

Having recently performed together at ChillinIt’s Melbourne leg of his album tour, ChillinIt reflects on their time together and how the track came to be:

“The song is a nod to the OG’s, Bliss n Eso leading the way, and in a way now passing the guard, paving the road for the new wave. It’s a cool song, they’re cool people too.”
– ChillinIt

Featuring sizzling collaborations from UK grime don Dizzee Rascal, New Zealander one-to-watch Kings, Australian music royalty Kasey Chambers and the aforementioned ChillinIt, among others, The Sun is the massive follow up to 2017’s critically-acclaimed ARIA #1 album Off The Grid, which featured the trio’s triple-platinum smash-hit single ‘Moments (feat. Gavin James)’ (over 60+ million streams and winner of ARIA’s Best Music Video Award). Written with optimism on the mind, The Sun is a statement on where we find ourselves as a society right now. There might be big problems but there is always hope and hope in the form of music is what Bliss n Eso do best.

“On one of the first days of recording for The Sun, a Rainbow Lorikeet fell from the sky with an injured wing and got tangled up in the bushes right outside our studio.  The bird reminded us of our rainbow winged angel that has graced all our album covers throughout our years.  The angel is a symbol of embracing a full colour spectrum of creativity and harnessing your dreams with the power of positive thoughts and actions. This bird falling from the sky was like a like a beautiful gentle reminder of this and where we came from.

We went out to the garden and picked it up, brought it inside, gave it food and water, nurtured it, and helped it recover.  When it was well again, we set it free back into the wild. That bird was like the music, we picked it back up, we nurtured it, brought it back to life and set it free again.”

Bliss n Eso’s fiercely passionate fanbase will be thrilled with the news that the band are releasing a very exclusive merchandise drop with album pre-orders. This special release range will include items such as a limited-edition translucent vinyl with Spot UV packaging, brand new outwear exclusive to this album drop, and for a very select few (28 to be exact) the option to purchase an ultimate bundle featuring a Serenade video from Bliss n Eso.

‘OG’s (feat. ChillinIt)’ follows the success of recent single ‘Good People (feat. Kasey Chambers)’ and last year’s ‘Lighthouse (feat. Jake Isaac)’‘So Happy (feat. SonReal)’ and ‘Send It’, which led to Bliss n Eso performing live on ABC’s The Sound and Music From The Home Front. ‘Lighthouse’ has garnered over 1.4 million streams on Spotify and was the cover of the platform’s Gold Bars playlist for eight consecutive weeks.

With their last three albums debuting at #1, selling close to half a million records in Australia alone, various prestigious awards and accolades, an unprecedented live presence and the most loyal fanbase in the country, Bliss n Eso prepare to return to the forefront with an album that nods to their biggest hits with an entirely current sound.

Bliss n Eso’s nearly sold-out tour kicks off in Sydney at the end of the month, with tickets only available in Adelaide, and the boys can’t wait to turn it up to eleven.
