BAD JUJU ANNOUNCE

DEBUT ALBUM ‘BLUE HEAVEN’

+ SHARE SINGLE

“NOTHING TO GIVE”

Melbourne alternative rock band Bad Juju have announced the release of their long-awaited debut album, ‘Blue Heaven’, and share ferocious new single Nothing To Give in the lead up.

Nothing To Give is the bands heaviest and most exciting release to date. Exploring harsher vocals, angry hooks and deeply impassioned moments, the new single invites listeners into a vulnerable space and acts as a return to form for Bad Juju. The band have undoubtedly ramped up the energy with recent releases, culminating in a body of work that the band can be proud of.

“We’re so excited to share Nothing to Give with our fans and new listeners,” says vocalist Russell Holland. “We’ve worked hard to create a unique, heavy sound that is distinctly Bad Juju, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Nothing To Give is a testament to Bad Juju’s commitment to creating raw and honest music with powerful emotional heft. The dynamic offering is the band’s second single of the year, and has now been announced as the third to be pulled from Bad Juju’s upcoming debut, ‘Blue Heaven’, set to further showcase the quintets growth and evolution.

The highly anticipated 12-track full length encompasses the group’s charismatic and cohesive sound, expert musicianship and emotionally charged lyrics. ‘Blue Heaven’ is produced by acclaimed producers Callan Orr (Hands Like Houses, Dream on Dreamer) and Sam Bassal (Ocean Grove, Trophy Eyes), bringing together an elite team of music industry heavyweights to create a unique and unforgettable debut.

The underlying theme woven through the album explores the observation of Earth from afar, portraying how the planet appears peaceful and calm, yet at closer inspection, the complexities and struggles of life become more evident. The album aspires to connect with its listeners on a personal level, sharing the reality that life is not always as it seems.

Bad Juju delivered their first taste of their debut album with last year’s Misery Sticks To Me and their April single The Other Side. NME AU described Misery Sticks To Me as having a: “sense of melancholy, that Bad Juju project through delicate guitar tones and gritty vocals”. The Other Side is a fierce amalgamation of drop tuned fretwork, pounding riffs and vibrant synths which saw the song feature on a Channel 7 Friday Night AFL broadcast as well as rotation on triple j Unearthed and multiple plays on triple j. The single was launched to a packed out hometown room in April with the support of Outlovedand Alera.

Bad Juju entered into the spotlight in 2017 with guns blazing, creating hard-hitting 90s inspired grunge rock. The band have cut their teeth on the live circuit alongside some impressive names, including most recently Boston Manor (UK), Movements (US) and Loathe (UK) as well as Mayday Parade (US), Trophy Eyes, Dream On Dreamer, Columbus and a hard-earned performance at BIGSOUND in 2018.

Nothing To Give is available and streaming everywhere now. ‘Blue Heaven’ will be available everywhere on Friday July 21.
