RETURN WITH SENTIMENTAL NEW CUT
‘NOW OR LATER’
Sydney-based indie-pop four-piece 90ivy (formerly The Flowers) are set to release their wistful new single ‘Now Or Later’ – produced by Peter Holz (Gang Of Youths, Vance Joy, Peking Duk).
Reflective and richly nostalgic, ‘Now Or Later’ is a sophisticated slice of indie-pop, led by the quaint storytelling and endearing vocals of lead singer Agnes O’Dwyer. The dynamics deftly lift and fall as captivating lead guitar riffs intertwine playfully with bright percussion and warm, syncopated bass. The track takes an unexpected turn into its ethereal bridge, before a cathartic final chorus bursts with explosive brightness.

Agnes talks about the meaning behind ‘Now Or Later’:
“‘Now Or Later’ is our happy-sad take on a breakup song – we love exploring contrast with our music, and this track is a good example of that as we juxtapose upbeat melodies and instrumentation with storytelling centred around heartbreak. The track came together so organically. Tom just started playing around with this bouncy, syncopated bass line during one of our jam sessions. It immediately caught all of our attention, and everyone stopped what they were doing to figure the song out. Liam came up with his infectious, 1975-esque riff almost immediately and the verse and chorus lines came to me on the spot, which very rarely happens.”
Previous singles ‘Truly Madly Sleepy’ and ‘You Don’t Say!’ were added to rotation on triple j, with the band’s whole catalogue also seeing extensive support from Australian community radio and triple j Unearthed, where they were announced as the #36 most played artist in their debut year. Their releases have also been widely embraced by the likes of Spotify, Apple Music and blog tastemakers NME, The Guardian, Life Without Andy, Trouble Juice, Women In Pop and Thomas Bleach.
In the live arena, the band have made a name for themselves in Sydney’s burgeoning indie-rock scene and supported some of the country’s most exciting up and coming artists in EGOISM, Great Gable, CLEWS, Yorke, Jess Day, Obscura Hail, Teenage Dads, The Moving Stills, The Million and Timi Temple.
