MELBOURNE BAND MANTELL
TEAM UP WITH STELLA DUNAI
ON ETHEREAL SINGLE
‘DEAR MIA’ OUT NOW
Off the back of the successful release of their last EP, Mantell returns with a mesmerising new single teaming up with Melbourne based singer, Stella Dunai of Empress.
Honest and vulnerable, Mantell showcase the evolution of their songwriting with latest single ‘Dear Mia’, an earnest description of a fragmented relationship “Oh the friendships, I miss the friendships and the fights”. Recorded at the band’s own studio – West End Recordings, Mantell enlisted the mesmerising voice of Stella Dunai to help create their powerful new single.
‘Dear Mia’ is a retrospective look into a fragmented relationship and the piecing together of the broken pieces. Mantell explores the regrets and self-reflection one has when they question where and how everything went wrong “How can I trust what you said when everything you’ve done gone to waste”. Their new single sees Mantell adapt a stripped-back composition while expertly building a cinematic and emotive journey.
June will see Mantell performing shows for the first time since heavy lockdown laws. Celebrating the release of ‘DearmMia’ alongside some of each city’s finest local talent. An unmissable opportunity to see one of Melbourne’s most promising new names thriving.

– Triple J, Declan Byrne
“Blissfully chilled out. Going back in for another dip now.”
“This one reaches a well earned four stars as Mantell control the brooding psych-y build up carefully.”
– Triple J Unearthed, Dave Ruby Howe
“Yeah this is sick, wanna fight about it.”
– Triple J, Tommy Faith
“In just two songs, Mantell achieves what many struggle to on full-lengths with ten or more tracks. The
cohesion between The Fog‘s two tracks is virtually flawless.”
– Doyle Smith, Velvet Independent
“The Fog is one of the best Unearthed songs I’ve heard in a long time. It’s a perfect blend of soul and alt- country. Plus,
features a perfect contrast in its intimate moments to its epic large scale instrumental breakdowns.”
– Lochie Stevens, 2RRR
“With their latest single ‘Can I Set It Right’, Mantell prove they’re well on their way to securing a place as one of the most exciting
up-and-comers to navigate their way through Melbourne’s notoriously overwhelming music scene.”
– Happy Mag
