RELEASES NEW SINGLE “MOLASSES (WALK THE WALK)”

Effervescent English talent Dylan Cartlidge has just revealed “Molasses (Walk The Walk),” his latest track and first single of 2021. The single follows the release of Cartlidge’s second EP, released last year, “Yellow Brick Road”. The groovy new track brings in the New Year with a tone as uniquely brilliant as the artist himself, it is a perfectly crafted piece that takes its listener on a rollercoaster of emotions and exposes them to new experiences of music, an ability that Dylan is so well known for.

The brilliantly layered harmonies powerfully open the song, building to the insanely impressive vocal qualities of Dylan Cartilage, which excitingly carries the song through each verse, playing with variety, tone and instrumental layering. The composition and production of the track coheres beautifully with the clever lyrics, the signature genius eclectic artistry that is Dylan Cartilage on full display.

“The song is about slumps and moments of demotivation in life. I wrote this song at a particularly tough time when I was experiencing burnout after getting home from tour,” says Dylan“It’s like going through bouts of purgatory where you almost feel like the person who set themselves all the goals, dreams and ambition is no longer at the steering wheel. You find yourself scrambling to find that part of yourself again or prepare to fake it till you make it, on the road back to finding yourself.”

Hailing from a small town in the North-East of England, Dylan Cartlidge has long since embraced the phrase “Hope Above Adversity” as his motto. His life path took a turn out of being submerged in adversity and gave him hope for his future when he was spotted and signed to Glassnote Music in 2018.

Last year was a mammoth year for Dylan Cartilage, the brilliant and effervescent “Yellow Brick Road” – produced by James Dring (Jamie TGorillaz) was released early in 2020 and truly set the tone for what was set to be an enormous next few releases. “Yellow Brick Road” has become Dylan’s biggest streaming success to date, as well being supported by Radio 1’s Jack SaundersAnnie Mac and Huw Stephens, spending 8 weeks on Amazing Radio’s A-List, being supported by John Kennedy at Radio XTom Robinson on 6Music and Matt Wilkinson at Beats1.

Following the release of “Yellow Brick Road,” Cartilage revealed his second single “Cheerleader” in July before dropping his first EP “Yellow Brick Road.” The EP was met with much praise, with critics hailing Cartlidge’s ability to shift from genre to genre as well as the brightness of his sound.
