WALKING ON CARS NEW TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

WALKING ON CARS
NEW DATES ANNOUNCED FOR ONE LAST DANCE TOUR

Walking On Cars have announced a string of international tour dates including their first ever headline shows in Australia, New Zealand and Russia. The dates, this November and December, follow a summer of European festival shows in support of the band’s spectacular new album, Colours. The four piece group from Dingle, Ireland, whose debut catapulted them to fame in their homeland and abroad, have recently completed a sold out UK tour and a clutch of huge arena and outdoor shows in their homeland, including a standout date in Cork’s Irish Independent Park last month.

Additionally, the band has now confirmed a short run of small shows around Ireland before Christmas to cap off their incredible year. Say the group, “To finish the year off we have decided to come back home and play a run of intimate shows around Ireland to celebrate the end of the Colours campaign. This album has taken us all around the world and we can’t wait to end the year with you all back where it started at these special shows.”

The band out of Dingle in Ireland are childhood friends Patrick Sheehy (vocals), Sorcha Durham (keyboards), Paul Flannery (bass) and Evan Hadnett (drums). In January 2016 they released their debut album Everything This Way (Virgin EMI). The record went on to take out the #1 spot on the album charts in Ireland upon release and remained in the top 10 for 31 consecutive weeks. Everything This Way also made the top 30 on the UK charts and went on to sell 325,000 copies worldwide.

Following the release of their debut, an exhaustive touring schedule, change in line up and in management, in April this year the group released their second album Colours which features singles ‘Monster’, ‘Coldest Water’ and most recent single ’Too Emotional’. Walking On Cars have since gone on to enjoy over 250 million worldwide streams and have sold almost 165,000 tickets.

About Colours

Recorded between the band’s own home studio in County Kerry, London’s legendary RAK studios, and Angelic Studios near Banbury where The 1975 also made their most recent, Colours is a second album kaleidoscopically rich with sounds, emotions, synth-rock imagination and the brilliant song writing synonymous with the bands previous releases.

As Irish music bible Hot Press put it, hymning the country’s newest big rock export in a cover feature, “With the massive European success of their double platinum-selling debut, Everything This Way, Kerry’s Walking On Cars pretty much owned 2016.” Indeed Everything This Way went on to sell a hefty 325,000 copies worldwide. Over 18 months’ touring the band has sold 135,000 gig tickets, reaching arena level at home and sold out tours across Europe, as well as playing the mains stages of some of the biggest festivals out there, including Isle of Wight, Rock Werchter, Rock Am Ring and Electric Picnic in 2017. Their total global video views stand at an impressive 60 million, their cumulative global streams an eye-watering, ear-trembling 200 million.
