RELIQA ROLL ON WITH

BRAND NEW SINGLE &

VIDEO ‘THE BEARER OF

BAD NEWS’ +

FESTIVAL SLOTS

No-one likes to be the bearer of bad news, so here we are bearing good news – that Reliqa’s single ‘The Bearer of Bad News’ is out now! It can be purchased/streamed now at https://ingrv.es/TheBearerofBadNews.

Not only that, but Reliqa is adding yet ANOTHER arrow to their live music quiver in 2022 – they are playing at MONOLITH FESTIVAL across the country, alongside Karnivool, COG, Plini, Ocean Grove, Ecca Vandal and more! They already have a pretty packed dance card, being that they are playing the Brisbane and Sydney legs of Full Tilt Festival and also supporting Void of Vision on their tour in July 2022!

THE BEARER OF BAD NEWS is your invitation into the depths of the sinister and occult. Reliqa’s latest work is a transcendental exploration into the dark art of deception, spun with themes of control and manipulation. Time and time again the pursuit of power has spiralled into catastrophe, and as these tables turn, so too does ‘Bearer’, packed to the brim with subversive excitement. Trying their hand with ethnic soundscapes and darker, harrowing rhythmic motifs, the band are digging deeper into their forward-thinking alt. prog sound. Reliqa have imagined a visceral, enigmatic projection of our world, and in doing so pose the challenge – question everything.

Vocalist for Reliqa, Monique Pym, says that “After the weirdest, most difficult two years, it couldn’t feel more cathartic to be setting ‘Bearer’ free. Having an extended period of time to reflect and build and expand upon the massive world we started dipping our toes into with this piece is a rare experience which, in hindsight, turned out to be as valuable to us as it was challenging. As we enter the new chapter of Reliqa, there are inevitably a whole load of emotions and fears to unravel, and Bearer really serves as the perfect outlet for that kind of purge. It is a song to get completely and utterly lost in. We can’t wait for our audience to share that intimate experience with us”.

Reliqa are the outrageous four-piece from Sydney, Australia who are forging their place in the emerging generation of modern progressive metal. Unrestrained by conventions, the outfit are taking their song writing and soundscapes to sophisticated new heights and are eager to share their latest offerings in the months to come with the support of an exciting new team.

In just a few short years, Reliqa have well and truly begun garnering the attention of a dedicated fanbase, having shared the stage with a host of iconic acts including Sevendust, Dead Letter Circusand Thornhill, and are set to continue their exponential growth spell at the highly-anticipated Full Tiltand Monolith festivals in 2022. They have had various tracks featured on Spotify Editorial playlistsincluding Heavy Queens, New Metal Tracks, New Blood, they have been said to be “…turning the right heads and gaining the right attention for so many reasons” by Wall of Sound and 2021 saw them announce their signing to Open Door Management with Chris O’Brien & Josh Smith (Northlane, The Butterfly Effect etc).

Closing out the year with a flourish, the band are making their return in welcoming new single, ‘The Bearer of Bad News’ – a hard-hitting, cool-minded, enigmatic take on the art of deception. Treading foreign ground while still remaining true-to-form, this track is yet another showcase of Reliqa’s ability to maintain a powerfully truthful identity as they pave their way through the alternative music industry.
