PEACE RITUAL DEBUT WITH ETHEREAL NEW SINGLE ‘TEARS OF JOY’

PEACE RITUAL DEBUT

WITH ETHEREAL NEW

SINGLE ‘TEARS OF JOY’

Welcome, Peace Ritual. Lost in a realm of chasing self growth and pseudo-spirituality, Peace Ritual debut with their ethereal new single “Tears Of Joy“, out now via Last Ride Records.

Peace Ritual is the dream pop brainchild of Joel Martorana (Endless Heights) and Thomas Elliott (Harbours) with co-writing and production credits from Sam Bassal(Ocean Grove). Born out of bedroom jams between tours, Peace Ritual was originally conceived as a hardcore band, but the duo unintentionally gravitated to writing rock or pop choruses and ultimately decided to pivot and commit to collaborating on a sound that felt most natural.

Peace Ritual was an excuse for the two friends to support, inspire and creatively push one another, especially through months of lockdowns and restrictions from the pandemic. After endless Zoom writing sessions, Martorana and Elliott found themselves in Bassal’s home studio in Melbourne, where inspiration rejuvenated and healed the process. Blending acoustic guitar, drum machines and synths, Peace Ritual abandon boundaries to find their balance.

Tears Of Joy” establishes Peace Ritual’s initiation, contrasting swirling drones, dissonant guitar layers and soulful pop sensibilities. “Tears of Joy is a celebration of the highs and lows of life. Even through challenging moments of grief or heartbreak, it’s all evidence that you have been bold or open enough to needing something or someone,” muses vocalist Martorana.

Accompanying the reflective single is a nostalgic music video produced by resident director Thomas Elliott, who has been a key collaborator with Ocean Grove and Running Touch. Sporting an aesthetic similar to the popular thriller, ‘Midsommar’, the clip exudes an almost unnerving composure and mirrors the song message.

Releasing through Last Ride Records, Peace Ritual take a unique place within the hardcore affiliated subculture, donning hypnotic and cult-like characteristics while searching for meaning and a sense of purpose along the way.

Tears Of Joy” is available and streaming everywhere now.
