The past few years have seen Banoffee collaborate with the likes of Charli XCX, Sophie, King Princess and Empress Of, join Charli XCX’s touring band and open for Taylor Swift on her 2018’s Reputation Tour. Across two EP’s and two albums, she has been backed by Pitchfork, Paper Mag, NPR, Oyster Mag, VICE, I-D, The Guardian and Fashion Journal.
After meeting MOSSY at a boxing gym in Melbourne, the pair have been waiting for the perfect opportunity to work together.
“I’d been huge admirer of her work long before we ever became friends, so it was such an honour to have Banoffee re-work’Unfazed’ in to this deconstructed club hit. I knew whatever she did with it would be full of heart, and colour and off the wall in some way. She definitely delivered on all those fronts” = MOSSY
On her re-work of ‘Unfazed’, Banoffee impressively plays with space and spareness intertwined with angelic vocals and glitchy production to produce a duet version of ‘Unfazed’ that truly hits different.
“When I first heard ‘Unfazed’ I was taken by how emotional the lyrics were in quite a unique way. The words of the track drew me to it, and it was such an honour to play with it. I wanted to create something quite erratic with the re-work, to highlight different feelings and moments within Jamie’s writing in a way that felt authentic to me” – Banoffee
