MANI BLU

RETURNS WITH NEW SAW HEAVY POP SINGLE

VERTIGO

Multi-talented electronic singer songwriter Mani Blü returns with new saw heavy electro pop single ‘Vertigo”. After opening for Dorian Electra and a year of releasing music through lockdown, Blü has returned to 2021 with her newest release, inspired by heavy future bass synths which emphasises the emotion and grief in the lyrics.

“Part of a new generation of rising pop artists drawing inspiration from the electrified sounds of the 2000s, Bowie and Warhol’s influence is all over Blü’s work, from her androgynous ’80s-inspired visuals to the borderline theatrical flourishes she uses to embellish her songs.”

– Paper Magazine

Sonically, Vertigo is full of electronic twist and turns, inspired by early-late 2000s electronic pop, Blü wanted to express an emotion of pure heartbreak through her love of heavy saw waves, which contrast her emotionally tender lyrics. Vertigo tells a story of feeling betrayed and psychologically distraught, through poetic lyrics. As a trans woman, Blü shows her vulnerability with pride, being honest not just through her physical being and fashion, but also her mind, she hopes that her words bring love and hope to disenfranchised people in the queer community. With all of her releases, she aims to send a message of self-love though an audio-visual experience.

“Vertigo” came to me during a session with my good friend James Comito aka Tryhard, I was going through a lot of trauma at the time, and I felt like I was being pulled up and down like yo-yo, and It truly felt like this heartbreak I was feeling was giving me physical pain, l had a melody idea stuck in my head, and I just knew it would turn into something special. This song has definitely evolved in its meaning, the meaning for me actually only found this song recently, and I I really just think that is the magical side of music coming into play, an almost foreshadowing of life” – Mani Blü

Mani plans to release her debut EP later this year
