KINGSWOOD embrace a brand new year, announce East Coast summer tour!

KINGSWOOD are back in full effect for 2021, announcing a slew of live shows that will bring the Melbourne favourites back to fans along the Australian East Coast throughout January.

Both the band and fans, having been deprived of each other’s energy throughout the majority of 2020, will be able to make up for lost time at these shows in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales; with three full records and a new live show primed and ready to be unleashed, these gigs are simply unmissable events.

“The prospect of finally reuniting the band in the context of performances and touring around Australia, and eventually the world, gives us life, gives us breath, gives us purpose – we’ve been caged animals, waiting patiently for the world to realign and let us be what we were born to be – musicians. We simply….cannot…wait.” Alex Laska Kingswood

The second half of 2020 proved to be somewhat of a renaissance for KINGSWOOD, with the continued promotion of their stellar third album Reveries, the follow up record Juveniles and in December, the release of the band’s first ever Christmas record – A Kingswood Christmas. The band also released special concert footage of their show at The Palais Theatre during lockdown; a taster of what lay on the horizon when they could be reunited with audiences everywhere.

The music has been a welcome avenue for distraction, entertainment and solace for fans, with Juveniles single ‘Bittersweet in particular ranking as Triple M’s #1 Most Played Song in the country, 45th on national radio and #75 on the shazam top 200 for Australia!

When the opportunity came knocking for live performances to finally be explored in December, the band leapt back into action, performing an impressive 10 sold out shows at Melbourne’s Corner Hotel.

For Kingswood, this period of time instilled their love for the craft and for what they, as a band are capable of. From there, attention turned to capitalising as much as possible on loosening travel and performance restrictions in 2021.

PRAISE FOR KINGSWOOD

“Fusing the sprinklings of Queen’s rock bravado in with the leather-clad swagged out rock of Queens of The Stone Age, and you’ve got a rough image of where Kingswood sit in this new chapter of theirs.”
Triple J

“Featuring the group at their rockin’ best, ‘Bittersweet’ is raw, uncut Kingswood…”
ToneDeaf

“Kingswood gives you a little something extra – it makes your body move, your fists clench, and your shoulders pull back as your hands itch to drum along on the dashboard.”
Heavy Mag

Kicking off with their traditional New Year’s Eve show, KINGSWOOD will then be on tour from January 22nd, right throughout until the end of the February. Come celebrate and say hello to a brand new year with one of Melbourne’s best bands to do it.
