REVEALS SOPHISTICATED NEW SINGLE ‘WANT ME DEAD’
AND ANNOUNCES DEBUT EP
Sydney-based artist Jannah Beth has today returned with her suave new single ‘Want Me Dead’ – produced by Daniel Duque-Perez (Baker Boy, Sampa The Great), Moody (Truevibenation) and the artist herself.
Opening with smooth synths and captivating vocals, ‘Want Me Dead’ highlights Jannah’s ability to create an expressive slice of pop music.
Her graceful vocal flow glides effortlessly through the verse, building towards an amiable hook, where the track’s brimming charisma is accentuated with majestic horns provided by afrobeat group True Vibenation, making for an infused groove-laden track.
Jannah talks about the inspiration behind ‘Want Me Dead’:
“‘Want Me Dead’ is a song about conflicting music industry experiences and reconnecting with why I started music in the first place. I honestly do feel like I’m out here ‘selling my soul’; this whole project has been informed by my real-life experiences, not trends or extrinsic motivations. I left school and a turbulent home life at 15 to chase my dreams & I’ve worked my ass off over the past 10 years to get to the place where I’m now seeing my dreams come to fruition.”
Previous singles and collaborations have been widely embraced by the likes of triple j, Double J, triple j Unearthed, FBi Radio, KISS FM, 4ZZZ, 2XX FM, 2SER, Radio Adelaide, and Radio Metro. She has also received extensive support from Spotify, Pilerats, Tone Deaf, Purple Sneakers, The AU Review and Acid Stag, as well as being shortlisted for APRA’s Professional Development Awards.
Behind the scenes, Jannah Beth has been quietly building several music studios in Marrickville’s busy creative hub by the Bowling Club. Already, the studios are filled with more than 50% female/non-binary resident artists & producers. Her company Offbeat Collective – an artist run creative space – will be officially launching soon.
