Navigating the harsh realities of the world without rose-tinted sunglasses can be testing – even for multi-disciplinary musician and creative tastemaker IJALE, who, with his latest offering ‘This Bubble’, explores the precious space for escape that is naturally carved out by romantic intimacy.

“This Bubble is a dystopian Love story; a meditation on the tender moments of a relationship, new or old, that make the noise and stress of the world around you fall away.”– IJALE

Following on from ‘SO BE IT’ and ‘Seaside’ in fastidious step, ‘This Bubble’, (which like all his output is produced, mixed, and mastered by IJALE) is another successful exercise in melding afro-centric sonic motifs with production that is notoriously Avant-guard. The result is a growing body of work placing IJALE at the helm of an important emerging scene in Australia right now.

Pulling from his Nigerian heritage, IJALE offers a unique experiential perspective to be heralded and observed; while as a presenter at triple J Unearthed, he has a proven flair for identifying and amplifying Neo-Soul, genre-bending R&B, and indie music. In addition to his creative output, IJALE is a championing force who is instrumental in giving back to his community.

Cementing himself in Melbourne’s thriving music scene with a nomination for ‘Best Solo Artist’ at the 2022 Music Victoria Awards, IJALE has been invited to showcase at SXSW Sydney, and supported Winston Surfshirt, Kojey Radical, Kota The Friend, Tkay Maidza, and Yazmin Lacey.

IJALE draws inspiration from the likes of Genesis Owusu, Kojey Radical, Bakar, and Cruel Santino; a rich pool of influence he applies his fresh and unique perspective to. The result is a sound that is both cutting-edge, personal, and culturally relevant. It’s a tall feat, but one IJALE is fit to master.
