EDITION OUT TODAY
Today, Friday 5 November, Garbage release the 20th anniversary re-issue of their third studio album, Beautiful Garbage.
Garbage frontwoman Shirley Manson says, “So many memories surround this album. We are elated to finally share the remasters of the original recordings, b-sides, demos, and remixes, some of which are available on streaming for the first time in 20 years.”
The release contains the 13 original Beautiful Garbage tracks remastered, plus bonus b-sides and remixes, alongside previously unreleased tracks from the Beautiful Garbage era. The album is available on a variety of formats: deluxe 3LP boxset with stickers, a poster and setlist, double white vinyl, double black vinyl, a deluxe 3CD set, and deluxe digital download.
Originally released in 2001 and marking a departure from the sound that Garbage had established on their first two releases, Beautiful Garbage was written and recorded over the course of a year. The album expanded on the band’s acclaimed musical variety with more direct lyrics and sounds that mixed rock with electronic, new wave, hip-hop and girl group influences. Beautiful Garbage reached #1 on the ARIA Chart when it was released in 2001, was immediately certified gold, and went on to spend four weeks in the top-10. 20 years later, the album is certified double platinum in Australia.
