DOWNSYDE TO DROP

THEIR NEW SINGLE

“CALL” OUT NOW

Currently nominated in the WAM Awards’ best Hip Hop category, Downsyde are back with ‘Call’, a new banger in the vein of their classic dancefloor filler ‘Fortune & Fame’. With Downsyde’s always razor sharp social commentary, ‘Call’, shows off the crew’s new use of all live instrumentation, providing a taste of their next LP which is in production. The song embodies many people’s frustration with our current leader and features vocalist James Abberley as well as the voice of Victor Steffenson, a Tagalaka man and author of the ground-breaking book, ‘Fire Country’. MC Optamus has this to say “‘Call’ for me is about rallying people to stand up, get together and make their voice heard. A lot of us are pissed off, a lot of us are disillusioned, we want things to change, whether it’s bushfire management or dealing with abuse, these pollies don’t have a fucking clue”.

‘Call’ is also the second single to feature the band’s newest member Beni Bjah who says “The energy around this song feels special and after rolling with the boys for over a couple of years now, it’s a new landmark for not only myself but for Australian Hip Hop”.

“Call” is out March 12th and is available to preorder on 12″ vinyl fromhttps://downsyde.mywaterfrontstore.com
