DAYS LIKE THESE UNVEIL

THIRD SINGLE, “HONEY” FROM

 ‘WIDE AWAKE’ EP

OUT NOW

Days Like These have unveiled the third and final single, “Honey”, from ‘Wide Awake’ EP – out now!

Premiering on triple j’s Short. Fast. Loud on Wednesday night, “Honey” slows things down and plays on mellow synth lines, a sombre mood and stripped down segments to highlight the emotion behind the track. “Honey” explores the feelings associated with losing an invested relationship and the coping mechanisms, or lack of, that come with the break.

“Honey was one of the last songs we wrote for the EP,” explains vocalist Callen Batson. “We wrote it in the studio with Chris and it turned out to be one the standout tracks. The band has always wanted to experiment with different sounds but we never quite clicked on how to do it successfully. Chris played a huge role in developing our song writing skills and helped see our vision through.”

Produced by Chris Lalic (Windwaker), “Gravity” became the first single to drop from forthcoming ‘Wide Awake’ EP followed by the eclectic High & Glow. “Gravity” made its debut at HEAVY Mag and was the first single to release from ‘Wide Awake’. Both “Gravity” and “High & Glow” made Music Feeds ‘Favourite Tunes of The Week‘ on release day and both had their triple j debut on Short. Fast. Loud.

“Gravity” featured in Alternative Press Magazine’s ‘Top 40 Artists You Need To Hear In April‘ who highlighted the polished new sound: “With electronic elements scattered throughout, the song introduces their listeners to a redefined sound. Using catchy guitar hooks, the group take a more melodic approach compared to previous releases” and made its television debut on Channel 7 Friday Night AFL.

On top of the release of brand new music, 2021 brought the announcement of the bands first show in over a year. Days Like These joined Belle Haven’s ‘Nobody Likes A Hospital’ tour to play the sold out Brisbane leg at Black Bear Lodge in March alongside Adelaide infectious rock outfit, Alt.. Following on from the success of their first show back, Days Like These released tickets to their own headlining EP launch show at Brisbane’s The Brightside on May 27 supported by Inertia, Deadnerve and Nervous Light – which sold out shortly after announcing!

Days Like These is Callen Batson (vocals), Noah Murphy (drums/vocals), Connor Robins, (bass) Jamo Benadie (guitar) and Russell Hodgson (guitar). 2019 welcomed the release of singles “The Absolute” and “Antidote”, highlighting the band as ones to watch in the Brisbane alternative scene and saw the band join Brisbane’s huge ‘Bris Big 4’ Festival with Shorelines, Stepson, The Brave, She Cries Wolf and Deadlights. The end of 2019 saw Days Like These travel to Melbourne and Sydney to play to new audiences before finishing the year with a sold out Brisbane show alongside Ocean Sleeper and Stepson.

Days Like These spent 2020 working tirelessly on their ‘Wide Awake’ EP. Single “Honey” is available now on all digital and streaming platforms.
