After releasing a string of emotionally charged singles in succession with a slew of cryptic interactivity amongst a growing cult-like community of followers, Alera brings the narrative together with their debut EP, ‘Beware The Snake’ – out Friday November 26.
“She demands your Sacrifice. Are you worthy of her secrets?” was the question that generated intense anticipation for what “The Covenant of Alera” would be. This did not disappoint after singles “Failure; An Anecdote for Expectations“, “Bleak” & “SMS” dropped, nourishing the appetites of fans hungry for a revival of mid-2000s post hardcore.
These singles gained multiple plays over at triple j Unearthed’s TOPS, Triple M’s Hard N Heavy and triple j’s Short.Fast.Loud programs. Alera earned high praise atWall Of Sound, being described as “Australia’s newest breakout act in emo/post-hardcore” as well as a full piece from Hysteria Mag dedicated to uncovering the meaning of Alera’s cryptic campaign.
Beware The Snake‘ boasts six highly energetic, thrashing hardcore tracks that showcase how effortless and balanced Alera’s dual vocalist dynamic pairs with a frenzy of drums and growling guitar parts.
